Guest guest
Sat nam, I am doing Kundalini Yoga with some friends. I know how to do Breath of Fire, but am looking for some help in teaching it to others. Perhaps, it just takes practice. We started off slow, tying the breath to moving the navel point. I felt like I didn't make it clear enough. I couldn't find any further instructions in the Kundalini Online Course, if there is any, I'd appreciate somebody directing me. Nor did I find any reference on the archives. It didn't seem like my friends quite had the knack of it. Perhaps I should just be patient and they will get it. Appreciate any tips. Thanks. Guest guest
Lately I am having students begin by panting. For some reason they seem to be able to coordinate the breath with the proper navel motion. Then have them transfer the breath from the mouth to the nose. Play with it. Guest guest
Dear Kartar Kaur, looking for some help in teaching it to others. > Perhaps, it just takes practice. Yes. Took me a couple of weeks which seems about normal. We started off slow, tying the > breath to moving the navel point. This is good to feel what you are doing and to learn to concentrate on the exhale and let the inhale happen. THen at a certain point you just have to get out of your head about it. After this exploration and making sure that they are pulling the navel in on the exhale, I tell students to mimick my sound and not to think about what they are doing and the ususally get it. Also it is done from the navel center and the diaphram, which makes the breath light and quick. If the lower belly muscles are used, the breath becomes sluggish and the effort is counterproductive. >I should just be patient and they will get it. Your patience will help them be patient with themselves.
