Yes, have you heard about the experiment used to teach science

classes about the theory of relativity? You have one bucket of water

as hot as the student can stand to put their hand in on one side, one

bucket of water as cold as they can stand on the other side and a

bucket of neutral temperature water in the middle. The student is

instructed to hold one hand in the hot water and one hand in the cold

water as long as they can stand it and then plunge both hands into

the middle bucket. They get a very perplexed look on their face at

this point because they are feeling the same thing so differently

with each of their hands.
