discontinued sadhana

Dear all,

During the summer of 2001, i was initiated into chanting the bija

mantra(of maha ganapathi) to awaken the kundalini shakti. I continued

it regularly, for a period of 3 months, after which i was not able to

do so because of my hectic schedule.

At this juncture, i wish to continue the sadhana, but there are a lot

of things plaguing my mind at this moment which makes my mind sway

like leaves in a storm whenever i meditate. I could begin to feel the

effects of the kundalini rising. During some stages, i felt very

light and could concentrate deeply with my mind absolutely not

wandering from the mantra.

 

now, Even when i perform my nitya karma, "sandhyavandan, and gayatri,

this happens.

I am a strict vegetarian but since i live with other members (not my

family, friends), i am unable to confine to diet regulations, so i am

forced to consume food that contains garlic and onion, oil.

Though i have a number of concerns about other things in life, i find

my mind wandering aimlessly about stupid things, when i try to

meditate.

 

i can feel the rajas rising in me, at several times during the day.

Can some one help me over come these, and help me back on to the path

of dharma and sadhana.
