SAT NAM!

When I am teaching meditation as part of my Yoga class (I teach Hatha

currently), I ask my students to sit in meditation for 5 minutes at the

beginning of yoga class. I ask them to observe the quality of body and mind

during the sit.

Then we practice Yoga, and at the end of class we sit for another 5 minutes

and I ask them afterwards to notice the difference in body and mind between

the first session, and the last one.

Usually students find that meditation comes easier after the practice of

asanas and pranayama, both sitting more comfortably and also the mind is

sharper, clearer. And the time goes by quicker, too!

So you can experiment like this on your own and find what works best for

you!

Personally, I also like meditation in the morning before my mind gets

cluttered with daily distractions, and asana in the afternoon, when my body

is stretchier. But I do the opposite some days, too. ;)

Cheers!

Elle

It is generally recommended to do asanas before meditation so that is easier

to get into a mediative state. If you don't have time, fit it in when you

can. The important thing is to do something and fit what works for you in

your schedule.
