Guest guest
Sat Nam All, I Was doing a 20 minute routine daily for about 2 years and 3 weeks ago decided it was time to commit totally instead of skirting the edge here. My problem is that three weeks into my 80 minute routine, something has started to feel clogged at my heart chakra. I know it is not a physical heart problem so I am assuming it has to do with the heart chakra being "clogged" or closed. It feels like there is a wad of something that will not move on up. Also, my life nerve on both sides has started having burning pain. I realize that overweight people have a problem with the life nerve, but this came on with the heart chakra wad. Otherwise I feel great. Just to make sure everyone knows, I eased into the new and longer routine. I did not just one day get up and start an 80 minute routine. I do my KY at 3:00 am e.t. daily. I tune in before I start and I finish with a "Sat Nam". I take time to relax and I mentally do Sat on inhales and Nam on exhales. What could be my problem here. Suggestions? Guest guest
Sat Nam Mary, 3am everyday is very good. You're a trooper! You can be a little gentler at that time. It's an option. In the Amrit Vela simply being vertical and alert is a victory. When I first did KY at the young age of 19 in 1977 I experienced a tremendous blockage and tightness at my heart and throat chakras. This freaked me out! But I understood quickly that this was nothing that Kundalini brought on as I was already tight in those areas and had been in pain for years. The practice of Kundalini simply pushed it onto the "front burner" and showed it to me as something that needed to worked through on the emotional level. My own consciousness spoke to me. Up until practicing Kundalini I had really thought that something was wrong with my heart but doctors didn't have a clue (many they still don't, I am finding) What I did for then was enter into Bioenergetic-Gestalt therapy for most of a year. That was great! I cried out 20 years of sorrow, pounded and wailed out repressed anger and shook out my fears. I recommend it for everyone (including Dubya!). Now looking back, I know that if I had spent 11 minutes or more chanting from my heart....I would have helped myself tremendously. Also, doing the 1 minute breath (20-20-20) at the end is very integrating. Stay very calmly present/connected with your mind and body. Let go and surrender to the sensations with a gentle focus at the tip of the nose. The emotional work is very important. Yogiji in "designing" our classical Sadhana has always had us doing 62 minutes of chanting meditation after the yoga. Anything that is going on in our physical body can be felt in the heart and must be experienced before it can be cleared. Once that is accomplished we are free to change our action in a small way. Be aware of those windows. Know that you don't have act/react in the old way.
