Guest guest
When I meditate or do any yoga nowadays, my goal is to induce (auditory) hallucination and become passive to it. I try to be a witness to it, so to speak; but I listen. However, when I focus on a mantra (mool mantra, for example), it takes away from my attention, as if other voices are in a peripheral vision, so to speak. But mantra is good for fear. Also, I think it is important to concentrate on actual perceptions during yoga, rather than totally letting the mind imagine its way along. definitely find a teacher, though. The teacher lists are not always updated; so ask around in your area regardless. sat nam, -thomas > > Hello all, > My name is Gabe and I have been classified by western > psychologists as schizophrenic. Guest guest
Sat Nam Gabe. I have a friend named Gabe who also has schizophrenia. He, too, hates the medication part of having this disease. He has tried going off his medication three times with extremely disastrous results, affecting not only himself but family and friends. My advice is that you become advanced in the practice of Kundalini yoga before you would ever make a decision to stop taking whatever is keeping you mentally healthy right now. This could take 5-10 years. Wait until you are advanced and then try it with the help of your doctor and yoga teacher. It is very possible to have experiences related to Kundalini while simultaneously having psychotic experiences. Possibly it is difficult for you to separate them. If you are practicing Kundalini Yoga, it is possible to work on liver cleansing and strengthening the liver. I do not know the chemistry of the drugs you are taking, but working on the liver is good for anyone, so I don't think it would be harmful. I sincerely wish you good health and pray for healing for you. Kartar

Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to the list. I've been doing the Ra Ma meditation for 11 minutes everyday since Dec. 14th. I'm planning on sticking with it for at least 180 days which our K-yoga teacher suggested. It's supposed to heal body, mind and spirit after 40 days, then it starts working on the subtle bodies. Part of the meditation, in addition to the chanting, is holding the arms up at a 90 degree angle with the fingers held in a kind of Star Trek kind of way! It's gotten me through my mom's death at Christmas. namaste, cathy > > --- Gordon Price <harisant wrote: > > Sat Nam Gabe, > > This is a heavy one but you can go > > through with the help of Ra Ma Da Sa meditation. > > Every day.
