Guest guest
Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung Ra Ma Da Sa Sa Say So Hung Hi Soniya, I've been out of town. Congratulations!. For the most part you can do all your exercises for the first trimester. It's the navel point work that'll you want to be careful with. (This includes breath of Fire) Definitely listen to your body. Everyone is different. Gurmukh's video probably covers this subject. There is much on this in the "Ancient Art of Self Healing" by Yogi Bhajan. Walking is real good. He talks about it in the book. I have much to do the next 12 days and then I go to India. I will do my best to respond and be part of discussions. Guest guest
Hi Sonyia, I was pregnant and found out that I couldn't do navel exercises. I found it was a good time to really practice meditation. I was very ill while I was pregnant so I couldn't even walk. But, I prayed a lot and with the help of my friends and family I was OK. I now have a beautiful baby boy who loves to do yoga. So meditate, talk to your baby and walk. I know that their are some video tapes out their for women that are pregnant. Cindy Crawford talked about it. Good Luck. Joy PS I am new to the group, my husband, Greg was on the mailing list.
Guest guest
When pregnant don't do exercises that result in your butt being up higher than your head. This is a rule in general. So that would rule out frog pose. What will be important for you to work on is a lot of hip opening and lengthening through the ribs. Spinal flexes, cat-cow, crow pose, etc. Be gentle with yourself. This is a time to turn your energy inward. Blessings--
Guest guest
Sat Nam, Also after 3 months no breath of fire, stretch pose, or heavy navel exercises. Chant divine mantras as much as possible. One friend chated Guru Ram DAs chant a lot while pregnant and her son smiled the first time he heard it. We will have one version of it on www.yogatech.com soon. > When pregnant don't do exercises that result in your butt being up higher than your head. This is a rule in general. Guest guest
Hi Elaine Morning sickness can result when the body is too acidic. There is some good information on acid/alkaline states of the body in a book called "Reverse Aging" by Sang Whang.
