Guest guest
Dear everybody, The real power is in Truth, Compassion and Humor I like that the Native Americans referred to "GOD" as Wakan Tanka (sp?) or the "Great Mystery". That really nails it on the head for me. It's right there in front of me.....no chance of getting too serious. If I do get too serious then I have created isolation and maybe even martyrdom (which is false courage). I am now perhaps quite lonely and my only choice is to be alone. To be truly "alone" and not lonely I need to rely entirely on the infinite for my support. In that aloneness I am surrounded by the love of the Great Mystery. It's an unconditional love with lots of Prana coming in and flowing out. Now can I contain and sustain that? Is my nervous system capable of such a feat in all it's complexity and permutations? Our egos may lead us to believe that we can and GOD is surely laughing out loud (but we don't hear) as He/She/It always does. Yoga and lots of meditation will help us un-attach by showing us how attached we are (the truth shall set us free). Sometimes that's too and maybe that's why falling in love is so much fun.....we get to let go and be out of ourselves, anyway. I am reminded how in 1977, I believe, the Salt Lake City ashram was doing everything perfectly...4am Sadhana, nothing but kitcheree 6 days a week and only wheat berries on Sunday. Well Yogiji came to town and made everybody go and have pizza and spaghetti and cokes and stuff. The point was to shake things up 'cause folks were getting way too serious. It is such a blessing to have a spiritual teacher like Yogiji. A spiritual teacher is an emergency brake. We can't be trusted to apply the brakes ourselves or even know when the proper time is. Maybe that is why the highest yoga is marriage. We get to learn to speak AND to listen from our inner reality to our connection externally with the appropriate amount of energy. Prana in proper proportion. It makes no sense to go rabbit hunting with an elephant gun. We have to listen through all our senses and when we are well grounded in them, our intuition (how GOD speaks to us) kicks in in a balanced way and we are in the flow of the Great Pranic body beyond out little "tanned, leather bag". Little prana merging in the Bigger Prana.
