Thank you for the additional info! I am very interested in learning more

yoga for addictions if anyone knows more from the Kundalini tradition, or

from other experiences too :)

I hold semi-annual yoga series for women in recovery here in Seattle. The

classes are set up to follow 12-step program traditions, including being

self-supporting through contributions. We do alot of meditation (11th step)

as well as detoxifying asanas and kundalini kriyas for addiction. My next

series is in the planning stages and will start in March if all goes well.

Feel free to email me either on- or off-list if you would like to discuss

yoga for recovery further!

Here is a hand mudra that can be applied to breaking addictive patterns,

also changing character traits:

Kalesvara Mudra

Kalesvara is the deity who rules over time

Place the finger pads of your middle finger together; touch the first two

joints of the pointer fingers (back to back) and touch your thumbs. So the

middle fingers and thumbs make a diamond shape, with the index fingers

knuckes resting together through the middle of the diamond. Other fingers

are relaxed and folded in naturally and loosely Point your thumbs toward

your chest, middle fingers pointing away, and spread your elbows to the

sides.

Inhale and exhale slowly, long deep mindful breaths, with pauses in between

inhale and exhale.

This is known more as being a calming mudra that you can practice any time

for however long you want. To apply it for addictions or changing character,

practice at least 10 to 20 minutes a day.

*Thank you all for this special online sangha!*

SAT NAM!
