In chinese medicine, waking a different times of night is related to problems

with different organs. Years back I was seeing a Chinese accupuncturist and

she said that my waking up at 3 am, and not being able to get back to sleep

was related to my liver. Each hour relates to a different organ. Does

anyone have more information on this? Now I wake at 4. I guess I should

just get up and do my sadhana. Then my problem wouldn't be a problem.

you're talking about the Chinese body clock. :

1 am to 3am = liver

3 am to 5 am =lungs

5 am - 7 am = large intestine

7 am - 9 am = stomach

9 am - 11am = spleen

11am- 1 pm = heart

1 pm - 3 pm = sm. intestine

3 pm - 5 pm = bladder

5 pm - 7 pm = kidneys

7 pm - 9 pm = pericardium

9 pm - 11pm = triple warmer

11pm - 1 am = gall bladder

I think this is what you were looking for. Ruth

Thank you! I had hoped someone would answer this one!

In what ways can/does one use this information traditionally?
