Guest guest
A note about dong quai. It is the chinese name for the herb angelica. It is high in estrogen. It is often given for female problems. Personally, I have taken it with bad results because I did not really know what I was taking at the time. In peri menopause, at first the progesterone levels drop. At this time you need progesterone, not more estrogen. I personally find that if I do my yoga that my peri-meno. symptoms are very mild, if at all. About PMS--do the prone backward bending postures. such as bow pose, boat pose, cobra, etc. I have found for myself that regularly doing bow pose helped PMS dramatically. Add it to your daily routine for a month and see what happens. If you can't do daily, even a few times a week will benefit you.
