Guest guest
Dear Hari Sant Singh, I'm glad you brought up the topic. I can only share my personal experience that this happens to me all the time. I have only been taking classes for a little over a month. But, I regularly cry at some point or another. I don't think it matters in terms of the mantra or kriya. Sometimes, it's during the ending song. I had a similar and more intense experience at White Tantric as well. Sometimes, it's not only tears, it's also extreme physical pain. I used to consider myself someone who had a strong tolerance for pain. Yet, this type of pain (emotional?), I almost can't bare. I had a wonderful class last Saturday morning. Then, right afterwards, I was talking on the phone to a friend and found myself in the middle of strong emotions I could barely control. I assumed that just coming from class had something to do with it. I've been taking the advice used at White Tantric and trying to just feel the pain and work through it. Any suggestions, sharing, advice is greatly appreciated, Sat nam, Karen > >Sat Nam Everyone, > In two of my recent classes two different students began >crying the moment we began the Kirtan Kriya meditation( Sa Ta Na Ma). Guest guest
Tears are a manifestation of prana (or pran), life force energy. So the flow of tears during a yoga or devotional practice is a sign of hightened/enhanced/strengthened prana as a result of the work you are doing. This is a wonderful thing, it strengthens the life force within and around you. OM SHANTI! Guest guest
Dear Hari Sant Singh and Karen B, I have been doing KY for a number of years now, and still have tears. It is my belief that sometimes we are removing blocks and sometimes when we touch the divine within, the God within and become one, for whatever reason we are so touch that it moves us to cry or release tears. For me, I don't always honor myself and deny myself. So when the tears come I let them fall and remind myself of just how much I am loved and to love myself. And when the tears become a smile we are in heaven and K has risen. Blessing to all. Samantha
Guest guest
Sat Nam, Thanks for your great explanation of tears Samantha. This is called "good grief" :+) Sat Nam, Gururattan Kaur > I have been doing KY for a number of years now, and still have tears. Guest guest
Emotions release before the infinite. It's like standing on the edge of a cliff and looking out into all that space. What do you feel? I think it was Camus who spoke of how at such times you feel a pull on your gut - it's almost as if you want to leap off into the space and be one with it. You become aware of your relationship to the infinite - to what is much bigger than you but what you are a part of, too. I'm moved to tears by pieces of music, by moments in movies that speak to my soul somehow, by great vistas, and by the inner vistas that KY reveals. At Solstice this past summer I observed silence for four days which made the moments that I did make sound, i.e. the chanting of mantras, very powerful. Every morning at Sadhana I would chant through tears overcome by the beauty of the gift of speech, by the beauty of the mantra, the beauty of that gathering, of the sun rising during "Wahe Guru Wahe Jio". I have also experienced tears brought on by doing particular krias. I think that as human beings we have the opportunity to exist on a subtle level where we are sensitive to these inner and outer vistas. The mundane and the routines of everyday life can dull these abilities to see and to feel. Television definetly dulls them. KY enhances them, and at times it can open up the channels in such a way that emotions rise up to the surface.
