Guest guest
According to Yogiji dreamless sleep is the ideal. A little yoga (I do Sat Kriya, 11 minutes if I want real good sleep) before sleep can be a tremendous help. The dream needs are not entirely clear to me. I think that if one awakens drained from the sleep experience as opposed to refreshed than dreaming needs to be looked at. If our sub/unconscious is putting us through the wringer with all of the hormonal activity of a cat fight than getting up when our subconscious is most active (3-5 is very high REM activity) and being aware and vertical is the solution. These are the perfect times for any yogic/meditative practice. Anything you do at this time is 10x more effective than at any other time of the day and you give the dramas the slip. Even sitting up and chanting Wahe Guru 16x or coming into crow pose for 3-11 minutes can totally work to reorganize your patterns. I like that Bill Murray movie "Groudhog Day". If's a good illustration of how we can keep reliving the same dialogue day after day or worse until something is brought into the daylight. Expand at those times when you most want to contract and vice versa. Guest guest
Dear Sukhmani, You may wish to check and see if there is a really good dream interpreter in your area. Some one who is spiritual. Sometimes dreams that see really bizarre can actually give you insights to what is going on and my not be as bad as they appear. Peace and Blessings to you. Guest guest
Dear Sukmani Kaur, WE can finish our dreams the way we want them to end. I finish ones that I don't like in my mnd and in mediation is a good place to make sure that it happens on a deep level. This method seems to satisfy me. Also you can finish them before you get up while they are still very with you. SAt Nam, Gururattan Kaur
Guest guest
I cannot comment on YB's interpetation of dreams, but I can say that in my own case dreams have been a major source of guidance in the last thirteen years. I find that if I open myself to accepting the message, the correct interpetation comes to me whether it is something I want ot hear or not. My experience has been that the symbolism can be quite personal - it can mean something very specific to me while another person would see it in a different light. I don't know that any of this is useful to Sukhmani, but I can tell you that the Sufis see dreams as very significant, and some some investigation of their dreamwork may prove useful. Guest guest
As an artist, dreams good or bad have always been an important part of my self expression. I am new to Kundalini itself but yoga has been in & out of my life since I was a teen. When I read that Yogi Bhajan doesn't dream I was intrigued but a little dissapointed until I realized that change is always GOOD. At one time in my life I had completely devastating dreams as you describe. I felt that I was losing my grip on reality & was beginning to fear sleep. To end the nightmares, I did a simple thing: I literally told myself "I am not going to have these dreams ever again. If I dream of this particular place it will only be about the good things that happened there." I had to repeat this before bedtime for several nights. But it worked!!! This technique also works well for insomnia- "I am going to have a full restful sleep now & I will wake up completely refreshed". Good luck on your efforts.
