Guest guest
Hello Kelly, Be very gentle with yourself. You have described/claimed the stress around you. When you are ready, and you are honored whenever that comes, release anything that feels less than good. Allow your family their choices and lessons. By taking care of yourself, clearing, balancing, centering, you do more good for you and them than you can imagine. Go ahead anyway and imagine it! The Aquarian Times is full of practical ideas for stress and depression. I found it at Hastings. If you choose or are able to find a copy, your intuition will lead you to the perfect article w/ exactly what you need. Sometimes Kelly, I go for a walk in the sun, find a wonderful old tree and accept it's energy. I say thank you. I also find time around any body of water helpful. If it's the water in the sink of dishes, so be it. It's easier for me to connect w/ water. Love, Laura I'm feeling really helpless right now. My mom is going >through hell as well and is really down and tired. I'm wondering if >anything like the above could be helpful. Guest guest
Kelly, I've been through what you are going through now and I can appreciate your need to help, and how hard it is when there isn't anything tangible to do. My only advice is that your presence as a calm and strong person provides an anchor to those around you who are drifting, suffering and frightened. It is almost harder to do this than anything else. One thing I did that helped me, when I lost my husband to brain cancer was to do visualization meditations. This was my own very personal journey and it helped me and may not suit you but I offer it in the hope it does. Some of it comes form my ancestor's traditions. I would use whatever method works to get as deeply into a meditative state as possible. Then I would "be" someplace, either an actual place or a place I want to be, Use every sense, for example: I am standing on a path in the woods, it is a pine forest, I am barefooted and I can feel the thick layer of pine needles and the few twigs and stones mixed in, I can feel the air, a slight breeze, I feel it on my feet, my hands and my face and neck. I feel my hair move in the wind across my shoulders, on my back, against my face. I can smell the pines, the moist in the air, the scent of woodland flowers and I can hear the birds, insects and wind. I look up and see the blue sky and sunlight filtering through the trees and I can feel the sun on my head, my face. At this point, when I am there I start walking, I am so immersed in the moment I make no conscious effort to direct where I am going. Amazingly my mind takes me to special places. A rock covered in moss, where I sit quietly and listen to the birds and feel the sun on my face. A camp in the woods with a fireplace, where I sit and watch the fire, listen to the sounds and smell the wood smoke. I come to a lake where I either sit dangling my feet in the water, or I find a canoe and I row out onto the lake, or I dive in and swim with strong strokes and feel the cold water embrace me. Sometimes people show up, ancestors, friends and strangers and they console and offer wisdom. Mostly I just allow myself to relax, something very nearly impossible to do under the circumstances. When I come back I am refreshed and calm, this seems to help those around me and I helps me immensely. I hope this may help you. -cris > Sometimes Kelly, I go for a walk in the sun, find a wonderful old tree > and > accept it's energy.
