Guest guest
Our discussion of over a week ago got me to thinking. I remembered that twenty years ago I stopped having a certain kind of dream. A dream where I was being chased (by the way, this is a typical Vata dream. Vata folks run on fear a lot while Pitta folks are often doing the chasing ref: "Prakruti" by Robert Svoboda). I was being chased and I'd wake up with my heart just pounding. Well, something different and big happened in my relationship with my close friends at that time. I let down in a big way and let them into me in a way much bigger than words can describe. To make it brief, I had the opportunity to show feelings and my appreciation for them in a very honest and direct way. This was not my usual modus operandi. That experience resonated deep into my sub/unconscious mind. The next time I found myself running in a dream (this time from rednecks) I just stopped, turned around and stood firmly. I wasn't attacked. I didn't have to fight. My heart didn't pound. The dream(s) just ended. Just simply being tired of running was enough. It was the change in my conscious behaviour that changed my dream behaviour. I think that sides of us that we are not in touch with during the day come out at night. It's a way to balance the psyche and what Yogiji is saying is be magnificenly conscious while awake and one won't need to dream (in excess, anyway). Also, I was a very Vata (airy) person at that time. Vata is very much about change and movement. I become much more grounded around and after this time Sat Nam, Dharam > > I am troubled by very vivid and very painful dreams. It seems my most > damaging emotions and fears are released--Past grief and current anxiety. I > generally wake from them, and remember them, so I begin my day in a > depressed state. I know Yogi Bhajan says dreams are dumped from the > subconscious to the unconscious; but in my case they seem to be dumped from > the subconscious to the conscious. Any ideas on help for relief from these > dreams, or on the meaning of them? > > > > Peace, Love and Light, Sukhmani
