One that says that the spirit is just a more complex form of matter. So, when the body dies, the spirit dies too. Antoher says that the spirit is aomething totally different from matter, independent of it. The best position I have found is from a french philosopher that says that believe is betting. You bet on one position or the other but you can't prove anything to the other person.
