Guest guest
Sat Nam all!!!! I started a 40 day sadhana of Kirtan Kriya about 6 days ago, and would like to know if anyone has any advice, I have a couple of questions. Question 1 - The normal time is 31 mins. The other day I didn't have time to do 31 minutes but was not sure of an alternative timing ration. Since the timing is divided up Chant-5 Whisper-5 Silent-11 Whisper-5 Chant-5. What ratios could I do, if I needs to shorten the time? Qu. 2 - I am using the L-form awareness, as advised, to ensure proper circulation of energy in the solar centers, but the book says to keep eyes focussed at the third eye. However, I am finding it quite hard to concentrate on bringing down the energy through the top of my head, then out of the third eye and at the same time keep my eyes focused in one place on, I find my eyes are flickering. Also with the L-form, I bring Sa down through the top of my head, Ta vibrating in the middle, Na coming towards the third eye, then Ma coming out of Ajna. Is this ok? One of my yoga teacher trainers had suggested doing it this way because she found the other way too intense, I'd like to hear of anyone else's experience with this. Qu. 4 - I usually get up between 5am and 6am to do my yoga sadhana,(I do Kirtan Kriya in the afternoon or evening) and used to sleep very soundly. Since I have started doing Kirtan Kriya, I am finding that I'm dreaming bizarre or unrestful dreams, and wake up feeling that I've been active all night. Is this normal, when one starts to do Kirtan Kriya regularly? Thanks for sharing any advise or related experience, Krishan Shiva Kaur
Guest guest
a short alternative is an 11-minute variation: 2 aloud, 2 whispering,3 silent, 2 whispering, 2 aloud. Guest guest
Sat Nam, The first time that I attempted a 40 day Sadhana of Kirtan Kriya (31 Minutes) I also experienced some strange unrestful dreams and thoughts. In fact after about 20 days I stopped through fear of what was happening. When I asked Yogi Bhajan about it he just told me to try again, which I did. Second time it was okay and I went through it like a breeze. I guess that it was a release of negativity that took place and I just had to go through it. I would urge you to go through what ever changes that take place. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Sincerely yours Hari Sant Singh Kindness has no defeat. Caring has no end. Guest guest
I once did 120 days of Kirtan Kryia and the first 40 were tough. I nearly stopped because I was afraid of what was coming up, until I was told by my teacher that my mind would not release anything I wasn't ready to face. It truned out to be a vey special experience and I would urge you to keep going. It's great to get rid of the muck !!! Sat Nam, Avtar ______________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Guest guest
Another 11 minute variation it would be 1min. 46 sec aloud, 1.46 whisper, 3.32 silent, 1.46 whisper 1.46 aloud. This way all segments are equal. Enjoy. It is a beautiful kriya. Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I'm relatively new to KY and I've been seeing lots of references to the Kirtan Kriya-40 days sadhana lately within the group. I'd like to know more about this or maybe a reference where I can learn more on it. It sounds very interesting to me and I might like to try it. Thank you for any information! Rest your physical eyes. Let the subtler body work the L form. I prefer to allow an L in the form of a column of light. That way I am not getting "motion sick" from all that movement. You might need to try something else at night and do your Kirtan Kriya after your morning yoga. You may have a lot of Pitta - Vata going on. Anytime one stays up past 10pm (often ignoring the various cues to go to sleep), Pitta kicks in and we get that second wind. Do something calming. A pranayam perhaps.
