Colors during meditation

Thanks for the support, Brad! I also tend to push myself harder than

I should. But I'm working on listening to my body and not my

mind/ego.

I had a rather weird experience last night while meditating. I've

only been meditating for a month, and honestly didn't feel like I was

doing it correctly (my mind thinks its the Ever Ready Bunny - it

keeps going and going). But I've continued to (try) to meditate 10-20

minutes a day. Last night, a few minutes into meditating, I saw some

flashes of purple. Then I saw a large purple circle (it actually got

smaller and larger and sometimes looked more like square than a

circle). I had never seen colors with my eyes closed before. This was

as vivid as if my eyes were open. Then this morning while I was

meditating the same thing happened. Does this mean that I'm actually

doing the meditation correctly? Has anyone else seen colors like that?

Sat Nam to all.

Speaking about colors...I discovered it when I was a little girl, if I closed

my eyes and just lightly press on eyeballs miracle would happened: I would see

waves of the most beautiful rich, intense, deep, moving colors...I spent an

hours enjoying it, specially when was misbehaved and sent"to my room" and also

when was sick staying in bed. I still can see it now...does it have something

to do with what are you guys experiencing? Would love to know if anyone else had

it?

Love&Peace...welcome Spring in our hearts....

Greetings to everyone...About the color thing, I too, have always seen those

neon interior eyeball lights & just always assumed it was due to living in

Oklahoma & having artistic sensitivities!

However, in the 7 weeks that I have been doing Kundalini I have noticed

even more sensitivity-particularly during chanting & focusing on the brow

point @ which time I see an emerald green orb.

When I meditate I also see colors. I see a red dot and sometimes green. One

at a time they come only a few times. What is it? I feel that I'm seeing into

other dimensions. And without even thinking about it, I see many forms all

around my bed. They look like souls. Has anyone experienced this strange

happening?

Hello, All,

Me too -- seeing colors when eyes are closed.

With me, it was originally a childhood thing. Colors weren't all that

vivid, but often before falling asleep at night I'd see a dark disk

repeatedly form and disperse. The motion was fairly slow. It was

mesmerizing. I'd lie there and watch the patterns arise and fade. Never

wondered whether it was unusual.

I've been doing kundalini yoga for a year, and a month or two ago I began

seeing the rythmic ebb and flow of the "disk" again while meditating. (It

isn't always a disk, sometimes it's a wash of light and dark that flows

across the field of vision.) I hadn't thought about it in years. It was

nice to have it return.

Glad to hear others have similar experiences.

Christa:

I am fairly new to KY meditation. I too see colors sometimes. Especially

when I concentrate on my third eye. Usually an undulating purple/blue circle

of some sort. It comes and goes and doesn't happen everytime I meditate.

Hmmmm.

Sat Nam,

So glad to know that others have the same experience. Some years ago

after after practicing KY for many years the light touch of the eyeballs brought

the experience of the most bright brillant and beautiful light right in the

middle of my head. Now I enjoy it every night lying in my bed before sleep.

Sincerely yours

Hari Sant Singh

Well at least I know I'm not losing my mind. Thanks for all of the

feedback from everyone.

I attended my first Kundalini yoga class Friday evening (actually it

was a workshop focusing on healing and yoga). At one point, we were

listening to meditation music, with people chanting to music. We

meditated to it for about 11 minutes or so. Towards the end of the

meditation, I started seeing a royal blue color. Occasionally I would

see flashes of purple as well. I'm really beginning to enjoy this.

Everyone is correct, the colors are beautiful. But I've noticed I'm

paying more attention to the sensations within my body as well. Its

becoming quite a learning experience. I started out doing yoga every

two to three times a week. But lately I've found myself doing it

about twice a day. It's becoming addictive.

Sat Nam,

Colors are one of the many experiences that we can have when we meditate. I

have found that visually dominate people often see colors and images.

Kinesthetically dominate people often do not see anything but the black

velvet space inside and are more eager to feel the sensations in their

bodies.

There is no right or wrong, just what we experience.

The most important thing is to turn our senses inward and develop an

internal relationship with our Selves and the Infinite inside ourselves.

This happens in many different ways. The point, circle, eye or colors at

the third eye are very useful for centering ourselves and establishing a

relationship with the point in the mind where we tune into the neutral mind.

This centering point of reference should definitely be cultivated.

Purple and indigo are the colors traditionally associated with the third

eye. So it is no surprise that one might see these colors. Again, there is

not right or wrong color. And centered is preferable to uncentered.

>Occasionally I would see flashes of purple as well. I'm really beginning to

Enjoy is a very key word. If we enjoy our inner experiences we can stay

there and expand our inner reality.

If you have following my writings, you will know that this statement pleases

me. :+)

And of course, this pleases me too. :+) This is a very productive us of

our addictive power, which I think we all have. The problem is that many

are accustomed to giving it away to external substances. KY helps us become

addicted to the Infinite and our Soul. Oh what a sweet pleasure.

I personally listen to the cosmic sound as I go to sleep. Whatever your

experience of the Infinite, it is great to tune into that you you go to

sleep.
