Guest guest
Sat nam! I am very interested in going to summer solstice in New Mexico this summer. Has anyone been who cares to share their experiences? Would anyone like to go? I'd appreciate any information from the community. Guest guest
Yes, I'm looking for those dates as well, so I can plan my spring classes around it? Not posted on the website yet, But I remember seeing them at winter solstice, but now forget what they were? Yes,I plan to attend. It's about 15-20 minutes outside of Espanola New Mexico. You camp, it's hot, very dusty and windy! And during Tantric you may be subject to gail force winds sandblasting your face as you lock eyes with your partner and chant! Ha HA! (so only sit on the outside edge of the rows if your tough as nails!) Oh Yes, You may also recieve a massive sunburn in this position...not because you are directly in the sun, but because the sun reflects off the big top tent across the way from you, slowly frying your face to a crisp while you helplessy chant away! Now that I've been once I should post some survival techniques as the time draws nearer for the uniniated! I came home from summer solstice and designed and made myself a special "Summer solstice yoga bag". My husband thinks it's hilarious...but he doesn't know what it's like out there...!!! As you can tell from my "gagging" conversations etc. I'm not really "keen" on things that involve dirt, muck and the like! Even though I found the elements "trying" I wouldn't miss it... the music, classes and Tantric are well worth it. Big group of people though,800-1000, you can feel abit lost in the crowd at times. Good that you are making some connections now! See Ya there, Sat Sangeet P.S. All night Kirtan on the last night of Solstice...there's a reason nobody has set up camp in the row right around the edge! (well, everyone knows, you may experience a flash flood...Don't they?) It was a long, wet, cold night! Ha Ha! Fortunately, winter solstice, all night Kirtan more than made up for my brush with the elements at summer solstice! (All in fun, of course! I have a tendency to dramatize a bit...what can I say...I'm a Leo!
Guest guest
Sat Nam, I am guessing, but it is probably the 20th to the 28th of JUne. Always includes the 21st and is from FRiday to Saturday. Call them up and tell them to put it on the website!! Guest guest
Sat Nam Gururattan, Thanks for the dates. Now I can prepare and save. Can someone just attend for the weekend? I may not be able to attend all seven days. - Gururattan K.Khalsa Kundaliniyoga Friday, January 10, 2003 8:41 PM Re: Re: Summer Solstice Sat Nam, I am guessing, but it is probably the 20th to the 28th of JUne.
