Guest guest
Hi to All I only send out these messages when there is a serious risk around. Currently we are receiving inordinate numbers of messages infected with WORM_KLEZ.G & variants. This infection depends on a security loophole in Microsoft Outlook & Outlook Express to spread. The messages arrive without attachment, with a wide variety of subjects and will, if unopposed, infect your system if you do no more than highlight them in your message window. Once infestation occurs, the worm will send itself, using its own built-in email program, to every address in your address book. It will also do things to your system on certain dates, such as deleting files which may make your computer unworkable, and destroy some of your valuable data. This worm is devious, insofar as it purports to come from someone other than the sender - it takes an address at random from the address book on the sender's computer and uses that address as its address. A large number of these messages have been sent out by a computer someplace in the Carolinas, with the address of webmaster Fortunately, prevention is relatively simple. Most anti-virus programs can detect this worm and isolate it before it gets to your system, and if you have the latest security patches from Microsoft installed on your system then the worm is unable to penetrate in any case. For information about this please contact either Microsoft or one of the Anti-Virus software vendors, and not me, and NOT this list! As always, be on your guard. I've even seen variants of this worm posing as Microsoft Security Updates and also as a cure for the worm itself! Keep your anti-virus software updated at all times. This list is safe. Attachments are stripped from all messages by , who also scan for any known viruses before onward transmission. Sat Nam!
