Guest guest
Dear Guruprem, Your e-mail was valuable to me. You put very clearly how to change behaviour and thought patterns that seemed to automatically head in certain directions. Last year there were a few months where I woke up feeling really good, happy, healthy and optomistic. Then I would remember that I was worried about something or another and I could FEEL the shift in my body after the initial thought transitioned into helplessness and fear.I was aware that there was choice here but did not know, or take responsibility for how to make different choices, In my case, I think the desire was towards a shrinking of myself and my hopefulness- my ego saying"just who do u think u r?" It was the desire piece that I was totally missing. I am paying more attention now to the patterns and will try to be more aware of what is happening inside. Thanks for the guidance. Guest guest
Dear Sheri, I'm very happy that my comments were of use to you. All credit goes to Yogi Bhajan, and to all the yogi's who preceded him. I've kept a little diagram of the "thought-emotion--desire-action" sequence in my pocket for many years now... it really helps. Re: ' I think the desire was towards a shrinking of myself and my hopefulness- my ego saying"just who do u think u r?" ' Yup, that about sums it up. We are stuck in a body, and so we tend to associate ourselves with the finite self. But we are actually a SOUL in a body, and our soul is part of the OVERSOUL, the Infinite God. It is the dance of the (finite) ego which, when we attempt to rise up to our "full height," says "just who do u think u r?" as you so aptly put it. In answer to that niggling question, just remember to say: /: God and me, me and God, are ONE! :/ It's one of the few mantras the Siri Singh Sahib has given us in English, but nonetheless it is very, very powerful... That darn ego -- it keeps messing things up!!! 'S'OK -- just remember Who you really are... It's so interesting how the human being is all set up "to pick up where it left off" each morning, by remembering. Yet, if the sequence runs unchecked, we tend to trigger old emotions. Worry is a killer! That's the real reason we are encouraged to maintain a morning sadhana -- just to "clear the mind," to "calm the waters." Even just a couple of minutes sitting up in bed and reciting ANY mantra you like will automagically clear your head and let you decide, consciously, how you wish to proceed after that. Hang in there... gs == (all re:) Neshamaaa wrote: >Dear Guruprem, > >Your e-mail was valuable to me.
