Guest guest
Start off with yoga asanas diguised as calesthenics. Be crafty tell him that he'll get a feeling of 'nothingness' from it. Seriously, if you approach the yoga as just breathing and excercising, it'll probably grow on him. Yoga's a science not a religion, right?! Let God sneak up on him. Guest guest
Hi Krishan, "assuming this was not a class would you introduce Adi Mantra"? Absolutely. I've found that students that aren't as taken with the spiritual aspects of mantras, absorb the scientific information differently. If they don't have a problem with Namaste, they shouldn't with Adi Mantra. I've gotten semi-favorable responses explaining the effects of vibrating the mantras in the head, relative to the meridians. Without sticking my kneck out too much, I believe the vibrating the meridians effects hormone release. This is something I'm not aware of many teachers delving into, I try to somewhat. Guest guest
Sat Nam, Having studying chi gong with a Chinese master for quite a while I too have learned to use different language sometimes. For instance, the point of concentration for the adi mantra is called the ni wuan point in chi gong and is considered a major "chi gate." When you do the mantra properly you can see and feel that chi gate get activated. In kundalini yoga this also relates to the relationship between the first and seventh chakras. They are in a polarity relationship and so when you activate ni wuan there begins to be a flow of energy between these two points and the aura immediately expands, thus providing the protection you need, and also firing up the kundalini. Guest guest
Sat Nam, I didn't believe in God when I first started doing yoga. I just didn't have any experience. Kundalini yoga brought me to the experience of the Divine. The Aquarian age is about experience, not beliefs. A belief is not much use in a pinch anyways because you are never sure. When you experience IT you know there is something other than yourself that you can trust. And in fact you can trust yourself when you have the experience that God and me, me and God are One. Guest guest
Sat Nam Gururattan, Well put. I was raised in a moderately religious family (not fundamentalist) so I've always been comfortable with God. But there IS a difference between believing and experiencing. Maybe its the deafening silence in my head after a deep meditation or the indescribeable stillness, losing sense of SELF, but I've never felt closer to Her. So yeah, what does it matter what you believe, just do the KY. "When you experience IT you know there is something other than yourself that you can trust. And in fact you can trust yourself when you have the experience that God and me, me and God are One." Yes, like everythings ok. Just be. Guest guest
It generally works best if your palms are together with fingers pointing straight up toward the chin and your mental attention is completely focused in the centre of your head as you chant the mantra. Try to get the sound "inside the coconut." Seva Simran Singh Ellen Madono wrote: > What do you mean by the point of concentration for the Adi mantra? Guest guest
Sat Nam, Think energy, think consciousness, think intelligence. God is just a way of talking about reality. Guest guest
Hi Gururattan, Is this a coincidence or is this the next paradigm? "My partner & I are preparing to create a new KY video series." Its a good way to test the waters. Hope you are doing well. Sat Nam Brad "Gururattan K.Khalsa" wrote: > Sat Nam, > > I didn't believe in God when I first started doing yoga.
