Peggy,

I had to smile when I read your post. I too cook for a living and I too

always seem to have a weight problem. I always use the philosophy: Never

serve what you yourself will not eat. I "sample" quite a bit. I also grew

up with the saying "Never trust a skinny cook". I guess that makes me a

very good, VERY trustworthy cook. I know that I am changing professions and

going back into cataloging in a library. Sometimes the only way for me to

get ahold of my self is to take a turn and go in a different direction.

I also know that no matter how hard I think I am trying to "diet" I never

lose weight until somewhere deep inside myself I REALLY want it. I am

always asking myself, if I want to lose weight so bad then why am I not

losing weight. Maybe deep down I really don't want it so bad, the time is

not right. Anyway that is just my thoughts on the subject of weight loss.

Peggy, as a sister "cook", thank you for sharing. I guess I'm not alone in

my weakness. :)

The only limitations I have are those I impose upon myself.

Hi, Mary,

I am a fellow librarian. Interesting that our career paths are crossing. I

do still have trouble snacking at work when I'm sitting at my desk.

I lost 100 pounds last year. It was the first time in my life that I

"dieted". I agree that it only works when you really want it.

Sat Nam,

Karen
