Guest guest
Dear Group, I am a Kundalini Yoga Teacher and also a Movement Psychotherapist. Just this week, two new therapy clients approached me about giving them sets or meditations to help with two different problems. The first person is depressed and has a difficult time sleeping. She had formerly been on sleeping tablets, became addicted and will not do it again. I know of one set for sleep, but it is quite difficult for a beginner. Any suggestions? The second person is undergoing chemo for lung cancer. Is it appropriate to give her a set or kriya? I was thinking of giving her the Life energy kriya in the Yoga for Healing book and also Gurunam's Ra Ma Da Sa. Any of your wisdom or experience would be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
This cancer patient should have conversation with Dharm Kaur in Arizona regarding how to cleanse the effects of chemo. I will send you her her number off post. Doing yoga it in as receptive a state of mind as possible will help. Best Wishes, Dharam Cheryl Planert wrote: > Dear Group, > > I am a Kundalini Yoga Teacher and also a Movement Psychotherapist. Guest guest
The most important thing for the sleep patient would be to detoxify from the sleeping pills. Homeopathy works best for that. Don't buy over-the-counter formulas though, go see a homeopath. (They should be prescribing Nux Vomica, Thuja and a constitutional remedy). Try Sitali Pranayam, light yoga early in the day but no heavy kriyas because they will overstimulate the nervous system imbalance. As for the chemo patient I would recommend some complimentary medicine alongside the chemo and a healing meditation that uses the breath and mantra. Try this one: Inhale in 8 parts through a curled tongue, syncronising it with the 8 parts of ramadasasasesohung, exhale in eight parts through the nose, syncronising the 8 parts with another repition of the mantra. Touch the thumb and index finger together very lightly throughout the meditation. What has also worked for some of my patients who have had chemo is that when they receive the chemo think of it as doing only good, being accepted by the body and working to destroying the negativity within. It makes a big difference when you work with your treatment choice. Good luck. Seva Simran Singh. Guest guest
What about the conquoring sleep kriya for sleep? I did it before I went to bed for about three month and started waking up naturally at 3 am. I did not have a sleep disorder so maybe I don't fit into the category that you are thinking about. Guest guest
For Sleeping problems try the "Kriya for conquering sleep" in Sadhana guidelines. For depression-Kirtan Kriya. For lung cancer Gurucharan gave my husband a meditation which worked on the lung meridian. I will try to find it for you or you can contact Gurucharan. For cancer the Alkaline diet or Macrobiotic diet is the best thing, although it may be construed as torture while on it. RAm Rattan Singh is still with us. Please continue to pray for his comfort.
