Guest guest
Sat Nam Can you recommend meditations and mantras for healing the digestive system? I have a terrible problem with chronic diarrhea. My doctor diagnosed acid reflux disease and prescribed medication which isn't helping. I've had this problem in the past since my teens. No matter how many x-rays and tests are run the doctors never find anything. I've just come to the realization that this is something I need to cure myself if I ever want a diet that consists of more than rice and potatoes. Guest guest
SaT Nam- Try 1000 mg. of L-Glutamine (an amino acid) it firms up the stool and has been used in cases such as yours.....give it about a week to see if it helps. if it does, then it should be part of your daily regiment. Can be found in any Health Food Store. Linda > Can you recommend meditations and mantras for healing the digestive system? I have a terrible problem with chronic> diarrhea. Guest guest
Both Yogiji and Ayurveda say that death begins in the colon. Do Vatskar Kriya (first exercise where you sip the breath) and Sitali breath (108 times) before your eat. Vatskar Kriya balances stomach acidity and Sitali will cool down your Pitta (calming your liver and nervous system). Many digestive problems originate with liver chi imbalance and toxicity in the liver. This "screws" with the stomach, pancreas and gall bladder and thusly your digestive enzymes. Also, look into Triphala, the Arise and Shine cleanse (www.ariseandshine.com), and the Kitcheree diet for your problem. There is much more on this but I don't know your particulars. Give us more. Also, to resonate with earlier posts by both Seva Simran and Guru Prem, alert your body and being a bout what you are about to do when you eat. Savor the taste because the mind needs to know to prepare itself. Eat slowly, calmly. Don't do anything else while you eat. No talking, TV, driving. Fast food is killing us. Guest guest
Dear Dharam, I am highly interested in the Vatskar Kriya and the Sitali you mention. I have an unbalanced Pitta and would love to get away from all the enzymes I take at every meal to ease my digestion. I am fairly new at yoga and would really appreaciate a bit more detailed description on how to do Vatskar Kriya and Sitali and what it will help do for you. Many thanks and blessings. Hansmukh kaur I have been very close to getting an ulcer at many times in my life and last year was also diagnosed with acid reflux. Many years ago when I was told I had gastritis and very close to an ulcer, my wonderful aunt put me on a diet of buttermilk and yogurt, I drank a large glass of buttermilk with crushed ice an hour prior to lunch and yogurt for breakfast, the buttermilk actually curbed my lunch time appetite. I was very young at the time and went out dancing and drinking and still ate my hamburgers and french fries;-) but the yogurt and buttermilk completely cured me of the gastritis in spite of my youthful neglect. I learned that the acid reflux for me was a stress-related illness. In December I started KY and have been doing the spinal set and meditation daily, I also changed my diet as a result of the millet diet. I have had no symptoms in the past four months! My response to stress is very healthy now and my diet is very low fat and high in fresh fruit and veggies. I hope this helps, -cris Cris Naugle SpiralXdesign, Inc http://www.spiralxdesign.com Walk in Beauty
