Guest guest
Sat Nam Sat Kriya experts, I've got the pain thing 'under control', but I start getting shakes. Can anyone comment on cause, and maybe a way around it? I'm about to shatter the 11 minute barrior, probably next week, but could use some more info. My shoulders are tight, my range of motion isn't very good up there, maybe its related. Brad
Guest guest
Sat Nam Brad, Sat Kriya is a very powerful but strenuous kriya so you should prepare your body slowly and gradually build the nervous system to prevent the shaking. Start with 3 minutes followed by 3 minutes rest alternating the kriya and rest periods till you are doing a total of 15 minutes of the Kriya. Do this for a few days before you hit the 11 minutes. Also be sure to take a deep relaxation after for at least the time that you did the kriya. Make sure to cover your head if you are doing more than 11 minutes. For stiffness in the shoulder and neck area you can do the basic spinal energy series before you begin Sat Kriya. Have a good one. Sincerely yours Hari Sant Singh Kindness has no defeat. Caring has no end. And touching people's hearts is the only language God knows. --- "ajana6chakra" <sixthchakra wrote: >Sat Nam Sat Kriya experts, > > I've got the pain thing 'under control', but I start getting >shakes. Guest guest
Hi Gordon, I've done all this, "Start with 3 minutes followed by 3 minutes rest alternating the kriya and rest periods till you are doing a total of 15 minutes of the Kriya. Do this for a few days before you hit the 11 minutes. Also be sure to take a deep relaxation after for at least the time that you did the kriya." I went by the Sadhana Guidelines manual, 5x3 minutes with 2 minutes of rest after each. I did that for about 2 weeks. I shake about the last 2 minutes or so. No big deal really, just something to work through. I may be on 11 minutes for a while :-) Thanks for the help Sat Nam Brad > ___________
Guest guest
Shaking is when the nervous system is getting stressed. You should stop at that point. Also make sure you are not stretching the shoulders up too much because that will damage the ligaments in the shoulder, possibly. You should also make sure you do some counter-exercise to work on your shoulders otherwise the problem in the shoulders will be made worse by the stress you are putting on them. For many people kundalini yoga is an exercise in will power but there is a danger in that. It has to be balanced with mindfulness and listening to the signals your body gives you. Feeling and stretching has to be done to counter-balance power exercises. Seva Simran Singh
Guest guest
Sat Nam Mark, I tend to shake towards the last 2 minutes or so. I experimented this morning, and kept pushing the shoulders back, they have a tendency to lean forward, and I noticed the shaking began sooner, the more I played with it. Good point about the stretching I've been doing some of that and I guess I'll just keep going. Thanks Brad
