Guest guest
Sat Nam I think I need just one or two mantras that will take care of all of my problems. I know that I am terribly out of balance, I'm only 45 and I feel like a walking pharmacy. I don't want to be one of those people who spends the second half of life incapacitated. I not only have the health problems..attention deficit disorder, learning disabilites, depression, acid reflux disease, allergies, hayfever and bowel problems, I have problems with fear, anxiety and problems interacting with others (I'm very introverted). I know this points to being way off balance with the chakras and all the different bodies. Unfortunately I'm only human and there are only so many hours in the day. I need a miracle just to get back out in the work world and cope with my health problems. If you could recommend one or two mantras to be done that can take care of all the problems and give me balance I would really appreciate it. Guest guest
Hansmukh, Refer to my post on Ahamkara (5/11) for information and alignment if you haven't already done so. It really resonates with pretty much all of what you said. Your sense of self on many levels has been compromised from what I am reading. Of all those levels the physical level is the most accessible. Do a many pronged approach. I would guess you are undernourished, so you want find a way to get what you need. I like Greens plus (if I don't have time to juice). I make my Kitcheree in 4 gallon batches and freeze it (because I don't have time to cook everyday) That way I am set for 3 weeks. I make the time while watching HBO on Sunday nights. This isn't meant to sound like a lecture even if it is one. It's what I do because it is very important. My digestion had been very strange from '90 to '95 (bloating) even though I did yoga and meditation everyday and my system has only truly been stable for the last year (+) because my daily staple is Kitcheree. That doesn't mean I avoid other things. I like food! Kitcheree is healing food on many levels. That little Mung Bean is the most amazing of all the beans. Look it up in Ayurvedic and Oriental texts. I point out again that for me!....yoga and meditation didn't do it alone. Having said that do a good stretching warm up series and then do Sat Kriya, Kirtan Kriya, Sodarshan Chakra Kriya and 20-20-20 breath in that order. Do 11 minutes each. Do it mindfully. Taste Your Soul! This is the "Maha" kriya. The other thing I feel you want to consider is chanting during the Amrit Vela before the day's light. Also, play Jaap Sahib (there are several versions) and Ra Ma Da Sa (several versions)continuosly at home to neutralize your fear, give you courage and reset your self (integrate). This way when you go back out into the work world you be doing so on your own terms, not those defined by a world that has not had your best interests in mind. Guest guest
Here is my take on this. Introverted types generally have the tendency to take in and not let out. That means you suck up stress and emotions and energies and it builds up inside until it ends up seeking an outlet in all the ways you have described. It usually hits you at middle age because you can just not walk around with it all locked up inside anymore. Satanama meditation is essential, but Har Har Har Har Gobinday is excellent as well (in combination) because it helps release from your heart anything that is not serving your soul purpose. Alternatively, if you really feel like you are succumbing to your fate, chant the Mul Mantra. The other thing to take into consideration is some kind of outlet for your emotions. For instance, some kind of creativity (writing, art, theatre etc) that is engaged in without consideration for competence or reward often gives vent to a lot of the emotional pressure. This is a technique we use in the clinic where I work and it is very effective for a lot of clients. Guest guest
Dear Hansmukh Kaur, > I think I need just one or two mantras that will take care of all of my problems. SA TA NA MA Kirtan Kryia in a KYTraining lesson. Yogi Bhajan says if you can only do one meditation this is it. It deals with what needs to be worked on in the order of importance set by your soul.
