Guest guest
SAT NAM! I just picked up a second-hand copy of "Kundalini Yoga for Body, Mind, and Beyond" by Ravi Singh. There is a meditation/breathing exercise in the back that my intuition tells me will be a big help to me right now. The description is: Block the right nostril with right thumb, fingers pointing up. Inhale deeply through left nostril, hold breath as long as is comfortable. Exhale through the right nostril, hold breath out as long as comfortable. Time open. My question is, when exhaling through the right nostril, do you close off the left at all? Or do you just exhale through both nostrils but directing the breath through the right as much as possible? I hope someone is familiar with this one and can clarify Also if there is a specific name for it I would love to know it. Thanks so much!!! Oh yea! In case you were wondering, this breath meditation is like self-help therapy which can help overcome compulsive habit patterns and ease stress! Guest guest
Gururattan Kaur Sat Nam, I loved your posting that meditation is difficult for you too, but you'll try again tomorrow anyway. That humility is essential. If it is enjoyable, then how much more could we expect? Still I have questions and wish I were doing a better job. I keep thinking of all the yogis sitting on the hem of the beloved's saffron robes. I am sitting with them and enjoying our company.
