Guest guest
I would like information on herbal methods to cure depression to work with the kriyas. I have been told St. Johnswort, yet the people who have responded never tried it or didn't suffer from clinical depression. I would like to hear from someone who is actually managing their depression naturally, and can give me dosage information on the herbal products. I'm on zoloft, but would eventually like to wean myself from it.
Guest guest
St. John's Wort only works when the depression is due to difficulty in a particular part of the nerve cell thus producing a lack of nerve transmission. That is impossible to diagnose and so if it help it helps. SAMe, a supplement available in most drugs stores and supplement shops, usually works better for certain types of depression. Again, you can only find out if you try it. And remember that despite what doctors/pharmaceutical companies say all anti-depressants have a rebound when you go off them, so go slow. A good pranayam can also make all the difference in the world if you do it long enough and continuously enough. The depressed mind will want to give up. This pranayam also works well for depression and for detoxing the nerves: Inhale and exhale in four parts with the tongue out and the breath travelling over the tip of the tongue (tongue is not curled). Hands are in prayer pose. Seva Simran Singh >
Guest guest
I am presently going through some depression and anxiety related problems due to extreme amounts of stress in my life over the past 3 years. My doctor wanted me to take something called Effexor, but just the idea of taking it created more anxiety, so I decided against it. I'm not big on pharmaceuticals and the side effects to be expected were things that i was experiencing presently so...what's the point of adding more!? St John's Wort is an effective herb for depression for many people. I know of one woman who had taken everything under the sun, prescribed by her doctor, and then she decided to do that on her own and it was the only that that truly worked for her. One thing that is negative is that it makes you photosensitive, which means that you are super sensitive to the sun so you will burn very easily, even if you normally don't. Sam-e is actually a single amino acid (i believe..don't quote me on this) that is actually naturally present in the human body. When the body has deficiencies of certain vitamins, such as B6, your body can't produce it as much as it should. Of course, stress causes havoc on your body anyway so your body doesn't run as it should. I have actually ordered some Sam-e and will receive it this week. Here's a link to an article http://smart-drugs.com/article-JamesSouth-SAMe.htm It's important to try and find the source of your depression...and it does help sometimes to talk to someone who is objective. good luck.... k. _______________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx
Guest guest
Sat Nam Kelly, " I have actually ordered some Sam-e and will receive it this week. Here's a link to an article http://smart-drugs.com/article-JamesSouth-SAMe.htm" For more info on SAMe effect on depression check out www.lef.org. Life Extension is well none in the anti-aging community, and there ongoing battles with the FDA. Probably the SAMe you ordered is ok, there is some that is worthless. Life Extension's products are excellent, with research to back, but expensive. Sam's Club's SAMe is safe, I used it. And its probably the cheapest around. Guest guest
Hi Kelly, Forgot to mention. I take Trimethylglycine right now because I can't afford SAMe on a regular basis. Trimethylglycine or TMG is a pre-cursor to SAMe, the effect isn't quite the same as taking SAMe but in the long run its ALOT cheaper. You can order it at www.swansonsvitamins.com. Just put TMG into the search box and it'll come up. Sat Nam Brad
Guest guest
.... anxiety is the only problem, love is the only solution..., - I saw this sentence today and I hope it can help all depressed ones, including myself, - these words are not really knew, but we forget it after a while, because we have so much to do during the day and we think it's all so important, - then sometimes it is good, to have someone, who remembers us: we can just think this sentence to feel a little bit better - maybe much more better than through a medicine..., our thoughts can make us ill and depressive or healthy, we can love an animal, a child, a flower, a walk through nature... - some minutes ago a friend called me and said: I want to tell you a little exercise, if you want to hear it: Connect yourself with light, God or your Higher Self, connect with the earth and imagine your shaddow like a twinbrother or - sister behind you. Ask him or her to come in front of you and give "the best". If it's too much, you can ask for help, God, an angel... Then allow this shadow to change, perhaps you see him surrounded from light or in a clear sea... Sending you all a lot of healing sunlight, inner peace and love Sonja 03.06.02 15:06:14, "Kelly ~~*~~" <kurij wrote: >I am presently going through some depression and anxiety related problems >due to extreme amounts of stress in my life over the past 3 years. Guest guest
Hi Brad The Sam-e that I ordered is from Nature's RX Nutralife Sam-e. I certainly HOPE it's okay! They seemed to have good articles on them from various sources. What did you experience when you took it? What do I have to look forward too. k. _______________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com
Guest guest
Kelly, if your body is difficient in SAMe you may feel a dramatic improvement. SAMe as you know is one of those chemicals that our body makes itself. I experience a mild sense of well being, very mild. It may be just what you need, along with certain kriyas.
