Guest guest
On this subject. I have worshipped Lakshmi for the last year with chanting. And I have been led to Buddhism. I couldn't reconcile the two at first until I remembered that Lakshmi's husband Vishnu was Buddha last avatara. Next avatara is Kalki from Buddhist tradition too. So it all has sort of come together lately. Also, I was worshipping Kamala - lotus goddess. And I was led specifically to Nyingmapa Buddhism which comes from Padmasambava, the One Born Fron The Lotus. Go figure. - kamal patel Kali_Ma Thursday, December 05, 2002 10:21 AM Re: incarnations of Vishnu I think it's interesting how the incarnations of lord Vishnu become a parable for evolution. I had never saw it that way until I read an excerpt from something my Guru had written. First was a fish, then a turtle that went from water to land, then a mammal, a land animal, then a man with a lion head, then a dwarf, small but fully man, then the fully grown men going from rajasic to purushotama. Then the Buddha and next Kalki to complete the evolution. Guest guest
Padmasambhava is Far Out. Padmasambhava is a Sacred Freak. Don't buy into the notion that he is a Buddhist dogma dispenser - he ain't. For all the Tibetan's pious talk, and protestations, not a one of Padmasambhava's termas has been placed on a level with the orthodox (i.e., from India) Buddhist canon. Which is ok. Guru Padma is beyond all that. But it certainly isn't in resonance with referring to him as "a second Buddha". BTW, a little known fact is that Sakymuni was almost certainly a bare assed sadhu, wondering about naked....those lovely, elegant robes and stuff got added later....for the Mrs Grundy's of the day I guess... Sort of like the Shaman Issa getting morphed into Jesus Wimp, eye shadow and soft lights... I have heard, but do not know first hand, that the Sakya Lama (one of old Tibet's top five) FORBIDS his chelas to work with Guru Padma's mantra. The Gelugpa's if you mention him look as though they're trying not to notice that you just left a fart... Padmasambhava is above all that. He has been with me in this incarnation for about 40 years...silently (which is the deepest being with there is). He is above all that. And I think he is an expression of Shiva. But then so are we all... s Kali_Ma, "Eve _69" <eve__69@h...> wrote: > On this subject. I have worshipped Lakshmi for the last year with chanting. And I have been led to Buddhism.
