Hello Rayne,

I made a list of books that I have read or would like to read about

Kali here is the link:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/listmania/list-browse/-/2GJF85JMOOCT3/ref=c\

m_aya_lm_title.more/102-5092186-7768921

if the link doesn't work I created a text file in the files of the

group. It's at the bottom of the list but you should read it first:

The Complete Idiot's Guide® to Hinduism By Linda Johnsen. I've been

at this for ten years and I still have a lot to learn. If you like

amazon and have an account the link up there is the ticket. Also if

you have any more question feel free to email me directly.

I'd be inclined to state that you are speaking to

yourself, using the Ma Kali image as a go-between.

Ma Kali, representing the entire manifest universe

and all its dynamics, is not inclined to communication

with individuals, in my opinion. That's not to say

that people don't speak to Her and vice-versa, just

that the entire communication takes place completely

within the purview of your individual personality,

and so you should look to yourself more for the

answers you are seeking, rather than try to find

causation outside yourself.

http://www.kalimandir.org/ is a great place to

explore the culture of shaktism as it exists in

the US.

You are welcome, Rayne.

I'm not suggesting that one cannot communicate

with Kali, just that one always does so by the

agency of your own individual makeup. Ma talks

to you *through* you, so the more you can know

about yourself in a psuedo-objective way (as

there is no real self-objectivity,) the more

you can make of your relationship to Ma.

As Len has pointed out, Ma is just a cultural

symbol which becomes enlivened with our love.

It's like we make a picture of Her in our hearts,

using the iconography to draw the outlines.

When we add love, that essence of reality we

like to call God enters and fills in the colors

between the lines. So Ma is as much us and

what we are giving to Her as She is Herself

and what She is doing with us.
