Guest guest
I was reading The Magical Power of the Saints evocation and candle rituals by Reverend Ray T. Malbrough. St Clare of Assisi is the patroness of television. Thats pretty funny. A saint for the TV. Oh st. Clare my TV broke down...boo hoo hoo! I guess the best place to put her is on the television! Hey' waite a minute! Thats not fair! Pagans dont have a deity of television. Heres something else straight from the same book Our Lady of Prompt Succor feast day: August 1st Day of the week: Saturday Color of candle: Gold Petition in epidemics, sickness, for special requests, to bring about quick change, help for the poor and needy. Patroness of the State of Louisiana. Oh cool I have my own saint now! Oh my middle name is Theresa. Theresa of Lisieux and Oya is sycranized with her. Why? Cause 1) she's beautyful, 2) the flowers that are around her, 3) the colors she is wearing. Oya like saint Theresa can give you protection from black magick sent by your enemies. The saints walked the earth and some were to replace the old pagan goddesses and gods. So I would not call them elementals. I would not call them Orishas but they have the same concept in some ways with them. But when the slaves could not practice their religion they sycranized their deities with Jesus Christ and the saints. The meaning of Santaria is Saint worship. Santaria has many Catholic overtones. Some of them love Jesus as well as the Orishas and respect and honor the Catholic Saints and holidays as well. It would seem to many practioners that Santaria and Catholicism walks hand in hand except that women can be priestesses but can not reach the same heights as a man. Though I hear its being chalanged, how much, well I wish I knew. I hope one day there can be equality in every religion for women.
