Namaste Nurcarnation,

Contemplate on this ;

Jai Ganesa !!

Sarasvatayai Namo Namaha !!

Sutra 1 Athato bhaktim vyakhyasyamah

(atha-after acquiring)Athato-now therefore,bhaktim-nature or path of

supreme devotion/Divine Love ,vyakhyasyamah-we shall expound

Now, therefore, we shall expound the nature of supreme devotion

The Sage Narada uses the word now to reflect that there is no

prerequisite requirement unlike other scriptural learning like

hathayoga preliminary requiremnt of yama, niyamas, jnana yoga

preliminary

requirement of discriminative mind of the learner-viveka . This shows

in bhakthi yoga there is no existence of any distinction or

limitation of caste , age or any preliminary requirement or any

purificatory rites to be mastered before following bhakthi yoga . So

you could start you learning NOW rather than after some other rituals

are conducted or mastered.

The copy that you have have gave detailed explaination by Swamiji

because he was actually discussing with his Japanese disciples

orally who needed extensive discussion of what is bhakthi philosophy

but it is not applicable to the first verse so I would keep it

straight to the point in discussion. There will be discussion of what

is bhakthi -the science of supreme devotion to God in others verses

to come so I will discuss them when the time comes.

Are you ok with the first verse ?If you are we will go to the second

verse for discussion........

Jai Maa!!!
