Guest guest
I have the same unease with spiritual practices which never venture beyond their old borders. Thinking like a historian of religion, it is my suspicion that drawing the line w.r.t. beliefs is normally a prelude to drawing the line to stake out a territory...and acquire some more land. If we could somehow meld our two expressions of caution, I expect truth would occur. Of course if we just go with Shakti...the fuss stops. s Kali_Ma, "Doinesidhe \(Mark\)" <doinesidhe13> wrote: > > Personally, I have a strong unease about using Wiccan or Pagan terms to try to understand any other deity, especially Kali. Kali is many, many things and cannot be classified so easily. Crones, in non-traditionalist paganism, are often consider the same as "dark" goddesses, so in that aspect I can see the attempt to link Kali with a Crone. But this link between Crones and "dark" goddesses cannot be necessarily assumed in traditional craft. The closest I can say on this is "my grandmother is certainly a crone, but not a 'dark' goddess figure. My best friend, however, is certainly a 'dark' goddess figure but not a crone." The same can be said about goddesses, at least IMHO. > Doinesidhe > > Do you, as a traditionalist, sense an identity between Kali and the > Crone? > > > > > Kali_Ma, "Doinesidhe \(Mark\)" > <doinesidhe13> wrote: > > > > Yes, I am a Traditionalist Wiccan, 3*. > > I am also a strong devotee of Kali; however, I keep the > two "systems" separate.
