Om Hring Deng dadang Hung

I have come across an explanation (in a book on kula tantras AND

NAMES OF pantheons by an author named Donowyc I think) Anyways he

says that the NG sound is Bengali, wheras the IM is other parts of

India. I am going to Darjeeling soon where I can inquire with some

Tibetan monks about this. Usually the m is pronounced NG in tibetan

mantras, as in Om Ah Hung but sometimes it is also Om Ah Hum.

By the way, on top of Dorje-ling peak in darjeeling there is a

Mahakala temple in which pujas are conducted by Hindu Shaiva priests

and Tibetan Lamas side by side, since Mahakala exists in both

hinduism and buddhism. Near to the mahakala shrine is a very

horrific Kali in a small temple. There sits a TIbetan Kagyupa lama

reading the Mahakali, Palden Lhamo puja every day. He speaks english

very well also and is very friedly. Dorje ling is one of the Pitha

sites as well. You can find it in the list of Pithas in Motilal

banarsidas' Hindu encyclopedia. A massive volume.

OM KRIM! Ma Kali mother of the 64 Dakinis
