I assume you can choose your own internal mantra. > You can add to the kriya, but don't change that which has been specified? You can't add exercises to a kriya, but you can modify them so you can do them. Sat Nam, Gururattan Kaur
Guest guest
Sat Nam Ellen, "So, I assume that when the mantra is not specified, you can chant what suits you??? My take on that is the PURPOSE of the meditation is to slow your breath down to one per minute. The mantra serves to do 2 things, it keeps the mind focused, and silently repeating WaHe Guru is (for example) akin to 'one-thousand-and-one...' "You can add to the kriya, but don't change that which has been specified? Is that the rule?" I never change anything in my personal practice especially not in a 'set' or kriya. I'll change it or modify it in class for students having problems or injuries. Blessings Brad
