Guest guest
Sat Nam Keetonah, Sat Nam Christa, Dear group, now as I am spending daily more and more time reading your posts, (puuuh - you gotta time, aren't you?) I just would like to welcome also Keetonah and say a short Hello. 3HO means 'Happy, Healthy, Holy Organisation' - 3H that's what KY is all about. And this is also what we are all searching for. You will see that a lot of people (or should I say 'souls'?!?) are on their quest to become, stay and remain 3H, but struggling on different levels - physically (e.g. 31 min Sat Kriya - wow....), mentally or emotionally. Everybody here is walking on his own road in his own pace, but all connected together. As Brad already said - nobody is here by accident. Why should KY be dangerous? KY is the yoga of awareness and one of the benefits is, that you are getting connected with the ONE, that you are becoming ONE and therefore you don't need any more any other person as a medium for connection (e.g. a guru, priester, etc.). All the power is in yourself and this is really GREAT! So to label KY as dangerous is just another tool of keeping 'the sheeps with a shepard'. This works as long as the 'sheeps' do not realize, that they simply do not need an 'shepard'. (They might need perhaps a teaching 'sheep'....). Hope you get my point - KY is not dangerous for the people doing it in the correct way, it is dangerous for the 'shepards'.... Just a word for Christa re christianity: I feel basically in the same way and think that I got your point. In my beginning twenties I have been a member of a fundamental christian sect and really took it quite serious living a holy life, but eventually was drawn out of this very holy group. After a couple of time I got in touch with KY and slowly realized, that exactly the way of connection to the ONE (you could call him god...) is different to the ways as taught by the large and small religions of the world. See my little example of the 'sheeps and the shepard'. Look at the religions, sects, communities, groups and other esoteric organisations all over the world, look for the sheeps, look at all the smart shepards.... I as a sheep needed to realize, that in fact I am a lion. What about you? Me-ee-ee-eehh from Shanghai, Ardash Singh
Guest guest
Sat Nam Jurgen, Lion, not sheep, couldn't have said it better. YB from day one, has said he doens't want followers, that this technology is for everyone, thats why he shares it. As soon as we realize we are 'that' already, we neutralize alot of the old Piscean fear. Blessings Brad

Guest guest
Sat Nam Jurgen That is what I was explaining. Although I'm not ready to consider myself a lion yet. I'm more like a lion cub whose (hopefully) going into a growth spurt! Welcome to the board Keetonah! As for the dangers of kundalini, I think there is potentially danger in raising the kundalini without the proper understanding and preparation. Gopi Krishna is one example. I've read on the internet of others who had been meditating for years and 'suddenly' had their kundalini awaken. They didn't know what was happening, they were not physically ready for it. There were many 'horror' stories about permanent physical ailments, psychosis, etc. How much of those stories is exageration versus reality, I don't know. But when I first started researching and reading on spirituality, I was also drawn to KY. And I had those same types of reservations that you have expressed. However, I did a lot of reading of various texts and came to the conclusion that, while the concept of chakras and kundalini was foreign to me, there was something intriguing about it. Yoga, in general, has been around for hundreds and hundreds of years (probably thousands of years -- but I'm not positive of the length of it's history). My personal opinion was, if people have been studying and practicing for that long, and still 'surviving' than it can't be dangerous by default. But, as with other things/concepts, I'm sure if practiced out of context it could be dangerous. The purpose of kundalini yoga is to prepare the body, mind and spirit to become aware of the vastness and oneness of all life. Raising the kundalini is a path to that understanding. And Jung's reference to 'western minds' not being able to handle KY, I think is dated. Back then, many westerners didn't understand or want to understand eastern religion or medicine. As long as an individual is open minded, I don't think it matters what area of the world they are from. I'm still fairly new at this myself (I started practicing in March of this year). So far I haven't had any regrets for beginning this practice, except maybe that I didn't start sooner! Christa
Guest guest
Dear Keetonah, Congratulations on exploring with an open mind. I have a 35 page essay at the end of my book Introduction to Kundalini Yoga (www.yogatech.com) that includes a discussion in this topic. Over the years I have simplified my answer. The most dangerous thing is NOT to do Kundalini yoga or spiritual practice that aligns the body, emotions and mind with the infinite. The greatest disease on the planet is unconsciousness. When we are unconscious, our unconscious runs and ruines our prescious life. My new book that came out for Summer Solstice and will be available soon "Love It with all Your Heart" will answer some of the questions addressed recently about the consciousness that we are trying to attain and how to attain it.
