Guest guest
Sat Nam..Group, Even if this is just echoing from one inbox to another I thought it would make a good post. I've been going back and reading the informational pages in the front of my yoga manuals. A couple of days ago it was Intermediate Meditation Manual, now I'm on KY Guidelines for Sadhana. Its so bizaare but I've had questions about some of the things I was doing in my daily practice (sadhana) and just realized that there is pages of information in the first few pages of most yoga manuals. This is about meditation, and the effect on our minds. This is not meant for anyone in particular, I just thought it was good to post. "In meditation, you are cleaning the subconscious of fears and releasing new reservoirs of consciousness and energy to guide you. As each fear comes up and you look upon it neutrally , the fear loses its power over you. You become more flexible and feel more free. Most fears were learned at a particular time of day. So, these fears tend to occur most intensely at the time of day they were experienced. By meditating at sadhana time, you slowly attract the anxieties from all other parts of the day. Normally you react to anxieties on their time and on their conditions. Since they come at the same time each day, it becomes easier an easier to deal with each one. Eventually the mind is cleared of the clouds of fear and begins to see the light and power of creative consciousness. Then the morning meditation clears out the daily sorries and projections so no further long-term subconscious fears can accumulate." "You confront a basic question : Are you willing to act and think in your highest consciousness, or do you want to hang on to your old identity even longer? If the choice is for the higher self, then sadhana becomes a joy and you leap up each morning to meet it. If you put off the decision, you will feel motivated, then unmotivated; you will feel more tired or sick than you may be to avoid getting up; and you may even fall asleep whenever you meditate, in an attempt to avoid this commitment to your self." I know there has been some discussion lately about meditations and problems with them, maybe this will help. And everyone is at a different place and has different demands on their time, so maybe this is a good reference point. If you are just beginning meditation this is something to consider.
