Guest guest
I've never combined the Vipassana meditation techniques with Mantra meditation. I don't know how that would work. In Vipassana I sit quietly and observe my own thoughts (or feelings, or physical sensations), observe and acknowledge them then let them pass. With a Mantra, I keep my "talking mind" engaged saying the mantra. It always amazes me though just what a multimedia producer my mind can be! It seems like even if I keep my talking mind focused on a mantra my mind can still be showing me movies at the same time. Guest guest
Sat Nam Devinderjit, "I've never combined the Vipassana meditation techniques with Mantra meditation." Thats sounds scrambled, I hope you didn't misinterpret something from one of my posts. Vipassana is mindfulness meditation, on the breath etc.. , Laya meditation on mantra (sound) and pranayam (breath, silent mantra). I don't know that much about Vipassana, but I don't believe you ever use a mantra. Did someone recommend that? "It seems like even if I keep my talking mind focused on a mantra my mind can still be showing me movies at the same time." Subconscious releasing completely worthless, useless, impressions, thoughts, fantasies. Blessings Brad
