Sat Nam,

I have a question to ask,if anyone could please answer it.When I sit

down to meditate and close my eyes,I just see either light,if the

room has light or I see only darkness if the room is dark. But it

seems as if I am seeing through the eyelids and gaze is constant.I

dont know whether I am meditating properly because I have heard that

when the gaze is focussed at the "third eye" then one should see a

black spot in the begining. Please tell me about this.

Best Regards,

jkaur

I usually see what I call 'the black eye' when I meditate. Sometimes

it changes color (becomes a bluish purple). But it doesn't always

appear and it doesn't always change color either. I don't try to look

for it if it doesn't come. But I also still do my meditation. I

personally try not to be disappointed if I don't see it. At first I

would get disappointed with myself if I didn't see it. Thinking that

I wasn't doing my meditation right. But then I realized that I was

disappointed in not seeing something, which isn't the intent of the

meditation. The intent is to be with the sensations of the body and

experience the moment. Not to try to force something or expect

something to happen. The fact that you are dedicating yourself to

meditating is the important thing.

What I personally find, is that when I'm not even thinking about it,

but just very fixed on the meditation itself, is usually when it

comes very strong (colors) and very large. A couple of times

it 'grew' so large the I couldn't see it, but simple saw just the

color all around me. Like I was inside it. But that's as far as I've

gotten.

Hope that helps.

Christa
