Guest guest
I have been asked to teach a set on Carple Tunnel Syndrom for office workers. My approach would be: 1 Build strength in the lower triangle (Nabi kriyas) to supply energy for the following steps 2-4. 2 Diaphramatic breathing and breath of fire emphasizing the exhale. 3 Open blockages in the heart chakra and throat (chest and neck). 4 Look for a kriya that involves opening and closing the hands. 5 Establishing daily routines to interrupt repetative motions and fixed positioning of the body. Does anyone have experience or suggestions?
Guest guest
It is my understanding that carpal tunnel syndrome actually begins in the spine with tightening and muscle tension starting there. Perhaps kriyas designed to increase spinal flexibility would help? Cheryl
Guest guest
There is a group of muscles at the side of the neck called the scalenes which are sometimes involved in carpel tunnel. The brachial plexus (nerves) passes through it which supplies the arm. Tension is this group causes pressure on the nerves which can cause the symptoms. Massage and other modalites to lossen the tense muscles can help considerably. Sat Nam, Avtar ______________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Guest guest
A good position to help unblock the energy flow and help your body heal from carple tunnel syndrom is to lie down comfortably....put your right hand over your left shoulder, with your left hand, put the thumb pad over the nail of the ring finger, and bring the ball of your right foot up and place it on the inner side of the left knee. Do LDB and relax. Then reverse for the right side. Best, Diane
Guest guest
I used to have very bad pains in my hands, wrists and lower arm muscles, specifically towards the elbow, due to giving a lot of massages and typing at work all day. The pain actually forced me to leave my job (from an office to a whole foods market where I was incidentally much happier!!) and stop massaging, (which then led me to become very focused on yoga!). I had bad pain on and off for years until recently, I still get it occassionally but it is MUCH MUCH better. So, what did I do to get it better....? I'm at about day 100 of Kirtan Kriya (the meditation where you chant SA TA NA MA, and press each of the fingers to the thumb). I have practiced it everyday for 31 minutes, and asides feeling a lot more balanced in myself, it has definitely helped heal my carpal tunnel. I think that this small but regular movement and pressing action has built up the small mucles in my arms, hands and wrists, and strengthened them. I had always done lots of stretching in the past, which seemed to help a little but didn't get rid of the problem. So I am convinced that it is Kirtan which has helped. Perhaps the repetition of the mudras sealing the energy pathways together, has improved the flow of energy as well! Good luck... I can sympathize!!! Krishan Shiva Kaur p.s. I also bought myself an electric toothbrush, as I found that the repetitive movements of brushing my teeth irritated the problem. ___________ SikhNet - http://www.SikhNet.com ___________ Get news on Sikhism and the Sikhnet web site Sign up at http://www.SikhNet.com/ ___________ Promote your group and strengthen ties to your members with email by Everyone.net http://www.everyone.net/?btn=tag
