Guest guest
Sat Nam Cris- Music is extremely subjective. But I can give you my own opinion. I personally LOVE Gurunam. He has several different CDs available. I have purchased Ra Ma Da Sa (which I find myself mentally singing througout the day), Triple Mantra and Blissful Spirit. Ra Ma Da Sa and Blissfull Spirit are my favorites. You may want to start with Blissful Spirit. It contains 11 minutes each of: Wahe Guru Wahe Jio, Har Har Har Har Gobinday, and Ganputi Mantra (Sa Ta Na Ma Ra Ma Da Sa). I wanted to go longer on these, but didn't want to break the meditation by re-setting the CD player. I took Gururattan's advice and made a copy. I have a CDRW on my desktop. So I copied the meditations, merged 3 of the same med together and burned a new CD. Now I have two CDs, each contain 30 minutes of one med. And it sounds just like the original CD. Gurunam's music is very conducive to meditation, it's relaxing and mellow, yet very pleasant and enjoyable to listen to. For me, the CDs have been a great help in the correct pronunciations of the sounds. As for books. I've purchased 3 of those as well, I have a fourth one on the way. Before I found the kundaliniyoga.org site, I had purchased Gurmukh's book called "The 8 Human Talents". I thought it was pretty good, but the more I learned, the more I realized it was geared really towards people already familiar with KY. I could be mistaken, but I don't remember reading anywhere about tuning in before doing any kriya's or meditations. But now that I'm more familiar with it, I find I'm getting more out of it. Brad had recommended "Kundalini Yoga: Guidelines for Sadhana". I found that very informative, from a beginner perspective. It explained a lot of basics that I hadn't known or wasn't clear on. The third book I have is "Kundalini Yoga, the Flow of Eternal Power" by Shakti Parwha Kaur Khalsa. This one is similar in that it takes the premis that the reader doesn't know much about KY. There are personal stories, as well as kriyas and meditations. Additionally, this one also goes into diet as well as implementing KY in daily activities. She also gives some guidelines for pronunciations. I found that part interesting as well. I just purchased Gururattan's "Transitions to a Heart Centered World" this week. I'm sure I'll find that one equally as informative and useful. I'm not sure if this helps or not. If you have any specific questions you can email me off-line. There is another one called Lumen de Lumine, which isn't a Kundalini-Yoga-Mantra, Lumen de Lumine is a part of an old prayer, it really has the power to open and heal hearts. >I just purchased Gururattan's "Transitions to a Heart Centered >> World" this week.
