Guest guest
Dearest Karam Kaur, Off the top of my head, I can't think of a specific meditation to replace negative thoughts, so perhaps someone else could help with that one. However, in reference to your past relationship, from personal experience, I can recommend Kirtan Kriya ( SA TA NA MA, see www.yogatech.com. lessons). As well as being a meditation to bring balance to your overall being, it helps to release past relationship energy and issues that we are still dragging around with us (often without realizing that we have them). I've been doing it every day for several months. During the first few months, quite unexpectedly, people from my past relationships kept coming into my mind, either during the meditation or during my work day, also disturbing my dreams. Different unresolved emotions that I had, pertaining to each person, be it guilt, regret, hurt, longing, all came to the surface. Each time a new issue came to my awareness, it took a few weeks of meditating with that feeling or thought in a neutral frame of mind in order to really understand it and the deeper cause / feeling that was underneath. Once I understood the deeper feeling / truth that was underneath each surface emotion and feeling, I was able to let it go, or at least be with it in neutrality and with understanding, without feeling bad. This has helped me feel freer and lighter because I understand myself and my feelings better, and have taken longs strides forward on the path to forgiving myself and others. I remember once studying that women and men are different in relation to the energy patterns they hold after having a sexual relationship with someone. Apparently a man's vibrational field will let go of the imprint that a womans field makes on it during intercourse quite quickly. However, when a woman has intercourse with a man her vibrational field continues to hold the imprint of the man for a long time, years, if I remember correctly (to those more experienced, please correct me if I am wrong) this is partly due to the fact that if the woman becomes pregnant and for some reason the father is no longer present, she carry and pass on the imprint to the child. Although this may not correspond to you, I share this as an example of, how we remain connected, as women, to our past partners. I have been told that doing a good sadhana of Kirtan Kriya, 40 days, or for a complete cleanse 120 days, will help to release this connection so that we can move on, physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically. Kirtan Kriya is an incredible gift.. for me it's taken trust to continue it as long as I have, because it has moved and stirred up soooo much from my past, that at times I wasn't sure if I was getting worse or better. I realize now that it wasn't a question of 'worse' or 'better', rather that I was and still am in a healing process. But, in that, is the blessing, whether we are consciously aware of our past issues or not, they're still there at some level, Kirtan Kriya seems to lift them loose and bring them to the surface for healing. Yogi Bhajan has said that in practicing this Kriya we will come to know that it's our best friend. I wish you all the best, please let me know how you get on! Living from the heart!!! Krishan Shiva Kaur p.s. There is a lovely song on 'www.sikhnet.com' called, 'Mender of Hearts', by Singh Kaur. You will need Real Player installed to listen to the songs. You can get a free download from the site. Go to 'Gurbani' on the left hand side, and select 'Multimedia Archive', where it says, 'Browse Media by', select 'musician', then go to 'Shabd/Title starts with' and type, 'Singh Kaur' then click 'Go'. This will give you a selection of her songs. They are all incredibly healing, she truly has a divine voice. I suggest you listen to, 'Mender of Hearts', 'Blessings' and 'Mool Mantra', click on the select boxes next to them, then click on 'add selected media to play list'. From there you should be able to select 'Play selected'. ___________ SikhNet - http://www.SikhNet.com ___________ Get news on Sikhism and the Sikhnet web site Sign up at http://www.SikhNet.com/ ___________ Promote your group and strengthen ties to your members with email by Everyone.net http://www.everyone.net/?btn=tag

I read this same thing as well. I believe that it was in Barbara Brennan's book Healing Hands or Hands of Light, something like that. I honestly forget the exact title. But essentially women carry a lot of energy from their partners long after the relationships have ended. Christa
Guest guest
Kirtan Kryia 'Each time a new issue came to my awareness, it took a few weeks of meditating with that feeling or thought in a neutral frame of mind in order to really understand it and the deeper cause / feeling that was underneath. ' A few years ago I had a very powerful experience of Kirtan Kryia - I did it 31 mins a day for 120 days. I was told when I began it that as the purpose was to clear the subconscious of garbage it was very important to just let thoughts arise without judgement and let them go, without becoming involved in them. As soon as we start to evaluate our thoughts we become involved in them again, which is counter productive to the purpose of Kirtan Kryia. I had some very heavy duty stuff surface, and I'll admit it was hard not to think about those situations, but I tried very hard and I can't tell you how successful it was. A terrible episode is my life is just - gone. As though it happened to someone else. I cannot recommend this meditation highly enough. Hope this helps, Much love, Avtar ______________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Join Juno today! Guest guest
Sat Nam Karam, "As soon as we start to evaluate our thoughts we become involved in them again, which is counter productive to the purpose of Kirtan Kryia." -And ALL meditation. "A terrible episode is my life is just - gone. As though it happened to someone else." -My experience is that many times I find the thought(s) themselves are more lethal than the actual event. Its endless thoughts that we can't act on, creating more thoughts, that create feelings, or emotions and on and on.
