I have a quick question. As others progress in KY, have they noticed

any changes in their dreams at night? I guess it makes sense that

yoga or any type of spiritual path would affect dreams, but I hadn't

really thought about it. I haven't remembered any of my dreams in

years (since high school). And in the past month or two, have been

remembering at least one dream each night. And they are usually

pretty bizarre. I've tried 'interpreting' them, but some make no

sense at all. I'm assuming that these are a result of the physical,

mental and spiritual changes that I'm beginning to go through. Just

wanted to see of others have had similar experiences. Thanks!

Sat Nam Christa,

My experience from dreaming and from other sources and doing KY it this:

we solve problems somehow with the dreaming process, its an astral plane,

and as we do KY we are also releasing alot of meaningless thoughts, images,

fears, emotions, memories. Some of these find their way into our dreams, my

feeling is that the garbage is meaningless.

I know that when I do a long sadhana, and especially when I do some before

bedtime, I rarely dream. I've heard it said that YB doesn't dream, and

I'm sure other advanced beings, and that this is good (not dreaming).

Blessings

Thanks Brad. That makes sense. I was just sitting here reading over

some of the dreams (I had begun to keep a dream log/journal when I

started having bizarre dreams). As I read through, I'm seeing some

common themes/symbols popping up. And I'm pretty sure they represent

issues I'm working through right now. At least they make sense in

that 'translation'. So I'm beginning to think that KY not only

dredges up stuff to deal with during meditation, but also to work

through as you dream. Thanks for the feedback!

Hello or Sat Nam,

Yes indeed as a matter of fact my dreams have increased some days they are much

more strange although always very educative...

I see myself going to places where I have never been : climbing mountains,

entering places, people I don't know explaining things to me, using metaphores

wild cats for enemies and how to handle difficult difficult situations,

sometimes I can interprete the dreams sometimes it's so weird ...

>From what I know it's the thyroid gland which when activated by yoga postures

helps attracting this kind of dreams anyway we have to be patient and accept it

as a part of the overall teaching rather than rejecting it and and losing the

benefit.

Sat Nam Brad and Christa,

As usual I asking about places I have never been. My dreams seem very

mundane if at all. I only remember the ones that happen when I am supposed

to be doing my sadhana, but am persistent in staying in bed. Maybe I have

not astral plane.

Gian-

>From my understanding, most people only remember dreams that occur

before they wake up because they're fresh in their memory.

As for the astral plane, I'm out of my league in this one. I know

very little about it, but my understanding is that it's a place

seperate from yourself. So it's not that you don't have one, but

where you visit/go to when you dream. But I had not heard of the

astral plane referred to with dreams before. So someone else should

probably comment on it.

Hi Ellen, Gian,

"What is the astral plane?" - We have causal bodies-causal plane (highest),

astral bodies-astral plane (in-between), and physical bodies-earth plane.

Somehow we access an astral plane when we dream, I believe. Maybe someone with

more info can shed light. I just finished with 'Autobiography of

a Yogi' and they talk about it some in there.

things usually happen when you dream:

1. astral work- you learn and practice things that lead to

enlightenment on this level. The body, as Brad said, has stuble

bodies (astral, casual, physical ect.) and different forms of

consciousness (conscious, subconcious/unconscious, and

supersubconscious-which is universal and can be accessed as a library

in the astral realm.)

To get to the astral plane the physical body must be very relaxed

but the mind completely active. As in sleep phases between other

forms of sleep. ex. deep sleep but not REM(rapid eye movement).

2. Psychological messages- these dreams come from your sub-conscious

(and in my opion include all night mares-which are usually based on

unresolved issues from the dreamers past). In this type of dream the

subconscious sends the conscious a message throught the use of

symbols.

[The subconscious mind uses symbols to relay messages where as the

conscious uses words. This makes me feel that the conscious mind

lays in the left part of the brain and the unconscious in the right.

The left brain works every orderly, one step at a time; where as the

right brain sees the whole pattern at once. ex1/ Left Brain:trees

Right Brain: Forest ex2/ LB: h-o-u-s-e RB: picture of a house (I

can't sketch in emails) ex3/LB: letters, numbers, step-by-step,

verbal expression RB: shapes, sizes, pictures, pattens, "creative"

expression-art.]

3. Play- This type of dream is your brain goofing off or having fun.

4. Any combinatioin of the above- This is part of the reason why

dream anaylasis books don't work. One must also rember that symbols

have differnt meanings to different people. If I, an American, dream

I'm saying the pledge of allegance to the American flag it doesn't

have the same meaning as a French person doing the same action.

So these are the four basic dream types. If you have any question or

want any clarifactions just ask, it is a lot of info yet only an

introduction. If anyone wants to know more I'll refresh my memory as

to sleep cycles and patterns. There are many good books about this

sort of thing too if anyone is interested.

Supposively when you sleep your spiritual self leaves the physical body, like

when you die. But there is some "Silver Cord" that keeps your spirit connected

to your earthly body. When you die this Silver Cord is supposed to break.

Anyway, personally I remember about 80% of my dreams, and about 30 minutes ago I

had a lucid dream ;) That's where I know I'm dreaming so I take control of

things.

The following lines were at the bottom of your email about lies and truth.

Where did it come from....your mind or is it a quote from someone else?
