Guest guest
Sat Nam Jyoti- The diagrams and books that I've seen/read have always represented the 1st chakra as red, the second as orange, the third as yellow, and so on, with the crown being violet. (basically the 7 colors of the spectrum from bottom to top). I've also seen the petals associated with them as well. But the crown is always bunches of petals. I've never seen just two. And I've also heard it referred to as 'the thousand petal lotus'. On the www.kundalini.org website is a section on chakras. In it is shown the colors, petals, meanings, etc for each chakra. You may want to look at that for details of each. I don't have them memorized. Christa
Guest guest
Sat Nam jyoti, "what does the colour and petals signify here? Is it that during meditation,we see those chakras in form of petals and colours? Anyone please tell me..because it confuses me as why chakras have colours and petal shape." -- I look at colors of chakras as 'window dressing', their nice but who cares? Don't stress yourself over something trivial, it'll give you something else to worry about while you meditate. Look at Gururattan's book 'Your Life is Your Chakras' it'll tell you everything you need to know. Just as in our yoga, we stress function over form (in this case color). Guest guest
About the chakra petal numbers and colors, I have heard a few explanations that make sense. The Anahata chakra, the heart chakra is two triangle ( a Jewish star). They represent the coming together of the upper and lower triangles. Usually we hear about the lower triangle as the first, second and third chakra. For most of us, balancing the upper and the lower triangles is a major task in life. For that reason, balancing asana practice this problem. The sixth chakra is two petals representing the two parts of the Pituitary gland, the front and back sides. Some how the 4 petal square of the first chakra looks very grounded to me, as in that person is very square, or I like my ideas to be stored in a box.... Just an impression. I've seen the red light from the back of a woman who was about to have an affair. It was shooting out like fire. Sat Nam Gian

Nabil wrote...>if mooladhara chakra, for example, is rotating healthily it radiates whitecolor,if it doesnt, it means it is malfunctioning .
