Guest guest
Sat Nam all of you, I am having problems with painful joints. Because of it, my Sadhana is getting less and less physical, (just pranayama and mediation). I do the basic spinal set, but it feels like much less than what I had been doing. That is probably making the problem worse?? The shoulder and hip are both hurting. The hip is getting so bad I am limping and staying is bed a lot. I had this hip problem when I was very stressed out with my job but I said to myself, I can't have a problem now and it would go away as soon as I got some rest. Now it does not go away, but I don't fight it either. It's an old problem that physically stems from arthritis in the lower lumbar also on the right side of my body. I feel it most in the panty line on the front of my body when I menstruate. I thought I was menopausal for the past three years. Well its come back and I have a feeling that the problems I am having are related. Should I work on nabi Kriya since the lower back hurts? Or should I work on hormone balancing since my period accompanies the rise in pain? Or should I work on the bladder kriya that I did last year for several months to work on the second chakra? At least once a week I have been participating in a hatha or ashtanga yoga class. I am very careful because I don't feel very good. Since I don't do these activities at home, they also seem to aggravate the problem. Or is the problem just coming out? When I am lying in bed doing side twists, I can feel the arthritis cracking up on my spine. Instead of the few big noises that I used to have when I twisted my left leg to the right side of my body, I hear little crackling noises-- lots of them. When I was meditating the other day, I felt this big rush of energy, like a release on the right side of my neck where there is major blockage. After that, the problem felt worse. Also, the areas of pain shifted. My gut feeling is I have to just keep working in some way as deeply as I can and get through this. If I release whatever it is, my body and soul will protest because I am changing the environment. May be there is a better strategy for getting through it?? What do you think? Guest guest
Sat Nam Gian, Take care of your body, try taking something like MSM/Glucosamine in an equal dosage of 3000mg/3000mg. Thats standard amount. It works great for me. I understand Tumeric is good for arthritis too. I'd keep doing the spinal set, but my program includes supplementing to give my body what it isn't getting through food anymore. Try it for a month without alot of extra Hatha, and Ashtanga, and give your body time to benefit from the MSM/Gluc. Blessings Brad
