Guest guest
Sat Nam everyone. First I want to thank everyone for their help and advice doing BOF. I think I may be (finallyl) grasping the technique, but I wanted to ask a quick question. I tried a method last night that felt like it may be correct. But I noticed that afterwards, my nasal passage and back of my throat felt completely dried out. The airways were very clear and I could feel a huge difference in the ease of my breath afterwards, but I also felt like the normal coating of the passage was 'blown' away or something. Does that make sense? And if so, does that sound like the sensation you get if you do BOF correctly? I had not experienced that before on any of my other attempts. So I'm hoping that I may be close to doing it correctly. As a side note, I don't think I've ever felt so 'clumsy' in my life. I'm usually a pretty coordinated individual, but this type of breath has totally eluded me. And the 'worst' part of it is its not that I'm trying to move my body into a new, unknown position. Its breathing! I shouldn't be having this much difficulty learning how to breath. Geez, talk about a lesson in humility. Christa
Guest guest
Yes the burning/drying is normal, especially at first for some people, especially if you live in a dry climate for some people, and for some people just because. Like anything else, the body adapts, though you may feel some dryness at different times whenever you do it - i.e. fire/burning/dryness. You feel clumsy because you have to learn to use certain muscles differently than normal - like first learning to ride a bike or swim. It's no big deal, but you'd be amazed how many people give up just because it's difficult at first - as if it is always going to be difficult.
