Sat Nam all!!!

I just got back from the European Yoga Festival... and had a great time, will

post some more about it later!

In reference to the difficulty of getting up early in the morning to do your

meditation or kriya. It all starts the night before with how you go to bed.

Getting up is easier, if you don't eat a heavy meal in the evening. Try not to

eat for at least 2-3 hours before going to bed. I always rinse my feet in cold

water before going to sleep, this helps to wash away the day and clears the

energy. Decide the night before the you will be getting up for your practice

(sadhana), set your intention and mentally say to yourself that you will waking

and getting up at your chosen time. Have your yoga / meditation space cleared

and prepared the night before so that it's waiting ready for you in the morning.

When you wake up, turn your mind off and simply get up. Staying in bed and

thinking about whether you should get up or not is actually harder that getting

up! And of course don't forget the cold shower. If you absolutely can't manage

the cold shower one day, at least splash your face, wet your ears, inner elbows,

chest front and back, lower back, behind knees and feet with some cold water,

this will freshen you and help you to stay alert during your practice.

Starting a new practice is most ideal on the new moon, or the waxing moon, (that

is to say the period between the new moon and the full moon, when the moon gets

fuller and fuller)! The energies at this time will work with you and support

new endeavours!

Enjoy!!!
