When I had pinkeye in the early 90's, I was fortunate enough to live with both a pharmacist AND a nurse who had me wash the eye out with milk several times a day, and that worked! Doesn't matter what type of milk you have, 2%, nonfat, whatever! Hope this isn't too late and helps you!
