Sat Nam-

I have a question regarding chakras. I'm quite familiar with the

major chakras up the spine. I've read several places that there are

minor chakras throughout the body as well. From what I've read/found,

there is a chakra in the palm of each hand. I haven't seen any

indication of chakras in the fingertips though. I'm assuming that

there is. Up to this point in my practice, I hadn't been able to make

out any difference in the various mudras used during kriyas. But

within the past 2 weeks, I've been feeling 'energy connections' as I

touch each finger tip. This is extremely noticiable when I'm doing

the mudra for Sa Ta Na Ma Ra Ma Da Sa.

Do the finger tips have chakras in as well? I've noticed this morning

that I'm still feeling energy in my fingers. And, due to my moon

cycle beginning, I only did a few warm up asanas and then a 15 minute

silent meditation this morning. Nothing intense at all. I can touch

my thumb to any of my fingers and instantly feel a flow between them.

Normally I only experience this during and right after practice. As I

walk around, it feels almost like I've got little 'energy balls' on

each finger tip. Does this make sense to anyone? And if there aren't

chakras in the fingertips, can someone tell me what these sensations

are?

Thanks!

Sat Nam Christa,

Sensitivity is increasing. Time will come when the whole hand

will feel like a big ball of energy. Keep practicing and enjoy. That energy is

very healing.

The hands are the most ":yang" part of the body and relate directly to the

pranic body and are therefore a hotbed of energy. There is a chi-gate

(energy transference point) in the palm of each hand. There is a point at the

end of each finger where the polarities change so energy can travel

up and down the arms. You can work with that to send energy out the fingertips.

Also, depending on your innate tendencies, that is the strength of

one polarity or another, you will have a natural tendency to take in energy or

give off energy through the hands - that can be excessive and

problematic or just minorly interesting. When the energy becomes very active and

begins to form a pattern of somekind it forms a magentic field,

thus you feel heaviness or "lock hand" in some way or another. Hot or cold

depends on the polarity of energy inside. The fingers can begin to

twitch or swell slightly or itch as the capillaries are beginning to expand and

energy is trying to move. Because of the way in which the body is

constructed, they are in some ways a mirror for the segments of the brain and

also the chakras. Thus working with mudras changes what is going on

in the brain and directs prana through the chakras and the brain in different

kinds of ways. Once the subtle body, which relates to the chi gates

in the feet, is opened up sufficiently you will experience the different effects

of mudra just by using them.

Hope this helps.

hey there,

Seems like yu got a lot of answers for the questions. My input is that when I

first start doing the ramadasa meditation 15 years ago my hands would not

stay flat. it would become cupped, energised and very resistant to stretching

out for the mudra. My yoga teacher at the time told me that my brain was

adjusting to the changes and that there was probably weakness in the brain

that would get resolved if I kept my hands stretched out .also my personality

would be affected and I would straighten out. It made sense then.I continued

feeling energy but I do believe that there is a chakra there and keeping the

mudras as proper as possible work on so many different levels

Satnam Hety,

Did you ever find out what brad did the rest of those days?( :(:

I to have the sensation to do the rocking thing as I call it. I have come up

with the conclusion that if I have not exercised enough my nervous system

have a harder time meditating there fore I want to squirm. My mind is also

having problems letting go so my body is the distraction. Another thing that

happens is that the kundalini energy might be to much for me, the chakras

are opening up and I am not processing all the changes on the subtle level.

When this happens it is important that you keep the spine straight and apply

the neck lock to allow the body to recieve safely. We usually start reacting

first on the physical level I think. We are all resistant to changes. The

subconscious mind plays a role in here to.Last but not least I am a natural

dancer and I love to move to music .If this is the case keep the posture or

dance to the music instead!

Are there kriyas to do that can help the energy flow from the

fingertips to other parts of the body? My fingers have been tingling

so much the past few days. It's like my fingers are about to fall

asleep or like they're REALLy cold. But they aren't cold or falling

asleep. The sensations are extending down to the middle joints on

each finger as well. And the past few nights during meditation, my

left ring fingertip feels like it 'has a hole' on the end when I do

hte mudra. Not sure that makes sense. But I'm wondering if the

energy is getting stuck there and not flowing, or if that's just a

normal sensation of the chakras opening.

Dear Christa,

Massage your body with your fingertips and give yourself the energy.

A few days ago I had writted about the pranic

energization technique, which helps in driving

and circulating the prana from one point of the body

to the other parts of the body.

Healers use one hand for giving energy, and use

another hand for receiving energy through the air,

and they are trained to focus more on receiving

energy so that they do not lose their energy in

healing their patients. Also, they can gain more

energy every time they heal someone.

Incidentally, I realized that the healer position

is the position for the idols for Gods in Hindu

temples, with the (healing) right palm and fingers

facing the devotee, and the (receiving) left palm

and its fingers held down and tilted slightly towards

the ceiling.

Hello,

In relation to the mudras questions, what about rocking? I have a terrible urge

to move in a forward/backward movement (not a lot) while chanting, but not when

I'm quietly meditating.

Love,

I include the integral original message for those who skipped it for one

reason or another.

I praise you.
